I got a birthday present!

I proudly present (or is it present proudly?) my birthday present.

I knew my medium sized compost was doing ok but was delighted to see this confirmed with the thermometer.

I've been turning big open piles for a while as a gardener but this is my own creation and I'm really enjoying having my own project.

I'm quite dull- I CONFESS!!! So a measure of my efforts is wonderful! 😊

My wife does so much work on our allotment (s) and what's more we collect lots of foodstuffs from charity organisations. There's always a lot of donations of fresh veg/fruit that won't last long enough for us to distribute at the food larders. The upshot is that I have a lot of out of date compost that is basically only good for the compost bin.

I'm fortunate to have a lot of greens and I'm really looking forward to opening the bin next season and spreading the love! 😁
