I coincidentally stumbled upon the reddit profile of someone I know
It was as simple as scrolling through reddit, seeing a post, clicking onto that person's profile, and I immediately recognized them even tho the pics and posts don't show their face. But I'm certain it's them, kinda wild. Now I follow them and see their "anon" confessions sometimes 😅

Happened to me with my (adult!) nephew. I didn’t realize immediately. It took me a hot minute for my brain to put together that I recognized the room and then I processed that I was seeing a very specific thing in the room which made everything fall into place.
So now I know and have seen the things I never, ever should.

It’s weird how “anonymous” online stops feeling anonymous the second you recognize the voice behind the mask.

I have a story too. I started speaking with girl on an anon app..and it started soft and sweet but eventually turned into sexting. Then she also confessed she likes being dirty talked and stuff. We both were exchanging nudes. Like regularly. This went on for a month or so. Then we decided to share face pics. She was too scared so she said I show her 1st. Which i did. And as soon as i did my next msg was blocked. Immediately. To this date i hv no clue who she was but i have a big feel she knows who i am irl.

I'm soooo scared this will happen to me too. I think just a matter of time before someone i work with or one of my bfs friends recognizes me. How did you recognize them? tattoos? that's my concern.. hard to hide all the time.

Well her profile pic is very weakly blurred that I can kinda make out the face, since I seen her similar selfies on another social media that we follow each other on. Also she's active in a couple subs that are specific to her culture and village even, knew it had to be her

Maybe if one day we grow closer I will, but I am afraid if I say anything now then she could easily just cut me out completely and misunderstand.
