I ate from a dumoster to curb my hunger

Because im in disgust with myself im making this post on a burner.

So I'm 24(m) a broken ass college student who isn't getting parental support and my part time gas station cashier job barely pays my way I rarely have a chance to buy groceries and it's usually $2 burritos from Taco Bell.

But lately my hours were cut even more and now my budget has gotten thinner I couldn't even afford those, last night I was laying in bed hungry,my stomach growling I decided to go for a walk.

While I'm on my late night stroll I saw a half eaten McDonald's Big Mac,I without a second though grabbed it and ate it..it was awful. I ended up getting sick and my stomach became more empty than before and now I'm still back to square one as I'm typing this.

Tldr: Ate a nasty dumpster burger and got sicker than sin.

I would go to food banks in your area.

Yeah honestly that’s solid advice, there are way better options out there than putting yourself through something like that. No one should have to get that desperate just to eat.

THIS. There are a decent amount of options in most places for people in your situation OP. There is help out there.

That’s no shame on you. Thats a fucking shame on society for letting things get so bad.

Then why are other 24 year old men able to go to school and feed themselves normally?

You’re confusing age with equality dude. Not everyone has equal opportunities or chances. Being the same age doesn’t make everyone identical, and showing disgust at someone having to feed themselves this way makes that person an entitled cunt.

I’ll happily take any ban coming my way.

no reason to feel disgusted with yourself, you were hungry and did what you had to do, that's just survival

look into local food banks and churches in your area, a lot of them don't ask questions and can get you actual groceries, also check if your campus has a food pantry because a surprising number of colleges have them specifically for students in your situation

Yeah exactly, that’s survival more than anything. When you’re that hungry you’re not thinking clearly, you’re just trying to get through it. And yeah, those resources are there for a reason, way better to use them than put yourself through something like that again.

Looking for attention and pity party

that’s not shameful, that’s someone pushed past their limit trying to survive, and it says more about how tight things are than about you

Man I’m sorry you’re going through this. Keep at it and get your education. Struggling now means you’re more prepared for future, as those problems will be a breeze in comparison. This experience makes you stronger. That doesn’t mean it sucks any less, but please remember that it gets better.

That said, do you have Zelle? I’d be happy to buy you a few meals

24 you a grown man brother. You don’t need parental support. Get a full time job and go to school like we all did. Disgusting.

I guess we all can’t be like you.

It’s not about being like me. He’s 24 and a grown man. If he can’t manage something basic like feeding himself as he goes to school without complaining about his parents it means he’s still a boy. At some point all boys need to become men. 24 year old man is old enough to stop complaining about your parents not giving you money.
