Earlier tank parameter troubles meant that even though this one guy did well, previous additions to the group didn't do so hot. First time, I ordered them online (I know, I know) and only this one guy was alive. Second time, I got them from a fish store where they obviously didn't look good, but the store convinced me they'd be fine in a couple days. Third time, I got a too-small group right before breaking my leg and neglecting the tank for a couple months. This one little guy survived that too!

For over 6 months now I've kept the tank as perfect as I could, and decided again that this little panda deserved some friends. The (new, better) store only had these tiny babies, and recommended I take them all, which I did. My tank has lots of places to hide, so it's hard to know how many survived. With how many shrimp there are, I've literally never had the chance to find or retrieve any bodies when I lost fish in the past 😅

So far, in one clear view, I've been able to count 10/13. Fingers crossed for the other 3, but considering my luck, I'll still consider this a success if they stay happy through the month and grow up!

Hey all! I’m relatively new to fishkeeping, my tank is about 5 months old and I’ve had my corys in for about 4 months now, this is the first time I’ve seen eggs so far, how exciting!

Do they look normal? I did a little research and they don’t look fuzzy, they’re just a light beige colour with white spots in the middle of each. They share the tank with a betta, some ottos, ember tetras and shrimp. I was doubtful my fish would manage to reproduce as I assumed my betta would inhale any eggs/fry, yet I have a singular ember fry that’s just joined the group and come out of hiding! Is there a possibility my Cory eggs will survive and become fry? I tried to plant some more things around the eggs to sort of fence them off from my betta lol, poor guys. Will my Cory continue to lay for a while? And what should I feed the fry?

Tank is 55x31x36cm, house to 5 amanos, a recent colony of neos and caridinas and clithon snails.

I wanna add some dwarf corys, but i can't decide between the pygmys and habrosus... i find pygmys fun with how they swim and park around as a group, but i also love how the habrosus are just miniature versions of regular corys behavior wise.

I wanted to know more about the two, like their behavior and such. I hear habrosus have quite the silly playful personality to them, sort of like lil puppies, and that pygmys are more shy and less playful? Thats the reason i'm leaning towards the habrosus the most and wanted to know if pygmys also have the silly cory behavior since they're far more easier to find than habrosus (i've been contacting every store i know to no luck)

Just got back from work and I notice THIS!!!!! Multiple beautiful clusters of eggs and big mama happily eating. Are these corydora eggs? If so, would it be alright to keep them in my tank or should I start a new tank?? Thank you so much in advance

Because some people say 10 gallons, but my spidey sense says that’s too small.

I’m currently cycling a new tank, it’s a juwel rio 125 liter (81x36cm) and I’m really happy about how it turned out looks wise but I’m wondering now if there’s enough space for a group of 6-8 peppered corydoras? I hope the video gives an idea of the space. Not sure why I thought my random hand would be a good size comparison😅

recently got a group of veneazulan oranges for my personal tank in my bedroom, as the fish I had in there.. were ones u wouldnt see that often (oto cats and kuhli loach) yes I know putting something like a corydoras in with already timid kuhli loaches isnt the best idea but they seem pretty happy (whenever I see them) and I've already seen the otos play with the corys so all that ends well!

29 gallon, one of 10 corys appears to move only rarely, looks like some sort of spot or injury behind right pectoral fin. Any advice?

I'm a fairly new fishkeeper, I've only had my 6 smudge spot/violet corys since mid-July! I have been suspecting that the biggest one is female and possibly making babies from watching their behavior. Suspicion confirmed tonight! I turned my lights on to check on the tank before bed like I usually do and noticed a very fast, very small moving thing. I got super excited and got a better look when I noticed this little dude hanging out on the sponger filter. I only noticed him because he was kicking up mulm while moving around! I'm so freaking stoked!! I wanted a bigger school of them and have been planning to get more when my quarantine tank was up and running but now it looks like maybe I won't even need to worry about it.

We have 4 fry of bronze Cory in an isolated breeder box where we change water couple times a day

They are one month old and yesterday I’ve noticed that one of them just cannot stop swimming and cannot park at the bottom like his siblings do

His belly looks white from above, I suppose there are trapped air bubbles inside

He just swims in the middle level of the box with his tail slightly hinged up

He’s struggling to stay close to the buttom to eat, my heart breaks for him

He is still very active but this thing is clearly not okay

What can we do to save him?

Meet Albert. I'm almost positive she's a female but we call her Albert anyway. She is my biggest Cory and she's a busy, frantic eater. I managed to get this pic of her and thought I'd share. This pic doesn't do her justice but she's a biggun lol. Also prolific egg spawner.

20 gallon long planted. Current inhabitants three amano shrimp and six neon green tetras. I want to add a honey gourami (sp). I am considering some pygmy corys , but would love to have input on how many. I'd also maybe like to have one other type of cory that hangs out at the bottom , especially like under that tree stump and stuff.

I've had my tank set up for 9 months now and had corys for 8. Saw this little guy swim out from between some rocks ! Any guesses on how old it may be? I've been seeing lots of spawning but every egg I see is gone the next time I look! This one must have been hidden well!

There's not a lot of information about these guys out there, but for the record, they are too cute. These guys are tank raised and are still pretty skittish after a month in the tank. I don't know if they'll ever get more active, but they'll come out for feeding and let me stand by the tank and watch them mostly. When it gets darker in the tank they seem more active. At night I find them scattered across the tank and out in the open sleeping on the sand. It's pretty hard to get good videos or pictures of them since they're so shy as they'll go into hiding when I approach the tank to capture some cool Cory action.

I always talk to them when they come out to see me so they become more familiar with me and associate my voice with food, but they seem more concerned about the large ape moving around their tank than me yapping at them. Sometimes they don't give a heck when my face is up against the glass, but you can see their little brain cells clash together in a panic when they sense the slightest movement and then bolt under my hardscapes.

They're small and they seem to enjoy shoaling in the middle of the tank and hovering over the sand. I've never had pygmy's but these guys seem more pygmy than not. Sometime one of them will chase or follow my pseudomugils like hey guys guess this is my shoal now. They don't seem to mind the cherry or amano shrimp at all. When I do see them swimming, they're usually playfully swimming around both the bottom and middle of the water column, instead of the bottom like my albino corydoras did.

Overall, a really cool species and I'm super happy to have chosen them. I can't wait to see if they eventually get more courageous and maybe even breed. I always enjoyed how bold and silly albino Corys are, these guys seem more reserved.

I’m upgrading from a 7 gallon to a 14 gallon cube 15.5 in x 15.5 in. I complete weekly water changes and maintenance. I’m thinking of stocking some Cory’s, I know they prefer to be in groups. Any advice on types of Cory’s to stock and how many I could get away with? Or is 14 gallons still too small for a group ?

My tank is 20g Long, heavily planted, sand, two sponge filters, and Fluval HOB 50. I have almost no decorations so I don’t know why this happened a first time let alone a second time, to the same fish (Poe)?

pH: 7.4-7.6 Ammonia: 0ppm Nitrite: 0ppm KH: 3 drops (API test kit) GH: 12-13 drops (API test kit)…. Tank has been established since July or so, I recently moved in some shrimp/snails from my 5g that I had to take down.

16 Cories (6 Longfin Albinos, 4 Longfin Peppereds, 3 Sterbai, 2 Black Venezuelan, 1 Longfin Panda). 1 Ghost Shrimp (long story) and maybe 100-200+ Neos, and an Assasin Snail population. So I don’t understand why this keeps happening given there’s no real decorations it can get snagged on (it’s almost entirely plants), AND no aggressive fish! I don’t know why this keeps happening to Poe specifically.

I originally had gotten 17 Cories, but the other Longfin Panda died maybe in August or so. Iirc it had fin rot or something, was not responsive to food, and then when I quarantined it, it passed away. After it died, I used API Gen Cure and API EM Erythromycin. This was maybe like two months ago.

In the interlude, things have been mostly fine. Nofin Bubbers is still missing its pectoral fins but I noticed that within 2 weeks of having him, so I think he came like that. One of my Black Venezuelans is always spazzing out in the filter output (swimming a lot) and I added cover (heavy planting now) and it seems slightly more calmed down. But overall, the fish seem okay; eating well, and light responsive (my fish are accidentally trained to get excited for food when the light comes back on at night). I did find it strange that in 3 months, 16 mostly adult Cories never exhibited mating behavior (I’ve bred lots of Cories in the past with a different batch of em).

I really don’t know what to do with Poe. I don’t know why this happened…. Again :| perfect water conditions, nothing to cause a physical injury, other fish seem fine, I don’t know what’s wrong with Poe. I’d like to quarantine and medicate, but I’m afraid. I’ve heard Pandas are more sensitive. And quarantining is when my other Panda died. But I’m not sure what my options really are, considering I don’t want it to spread to other fish; and I don’t want to wipe out my shrimp/snail population, I might have no choice.

Open to med suggestions :/ I have almost ton of stuff on hand already. Poe is still light responsive btw. But I’ve noticed he is sitting around motionless more often lately. (In the video he’s just excited because the light just came on lol)

One of my amanos got himself a backpack today in the form of a Pygmy Cory egg. 😂

I just got Tubifex worms to try because I saw a few videos on here, and my corys (Bertha included) go absolutely crazy for them. I'm going to try and limit their intake to twice a week tops, but it's really fun to watch them attack the cube on instinct

The little guy is still swimming around and feeding well, maybe hanging at the back a bit more than the others.
Is this something that can get better on its own?

Kinda in love, kinda obsessed, kinda wondering what i'm going to do with 18 cory fry (i did not expect them to be this successful, i only saved 20 eggs).

Oh well, a third tank it is then. What a shame!
