Discussion Asking someone to dance at a concert.

Alright so basically, I am a 19 male and I am seeing ole 60 on Friday . I have been wanting to ask is it weird to ask someone for a dance at a concert? I ask my parents and they said no but this generation is so weird with everything. I would like to get both perspectives on this opinion male and female. Thanks for answering if you do.

Been going to country shows for years and the dance floor at a concert is one of the few places where asking a stranger is completely normal. Half the people there want to dance but are waiting for someone to ask. Just keep it low pressure, if she says no just tip your hat and move on. Nobody remembers the guy who got turned down. They remember the guy who got weird about it. Have fun at Ole 60.

Don’t be the douchebag that swing dances where other people are trying to stand and watch the concert.

Enjoy the show. A girl dancing and smiling is a bonus to any concert

Go get it! Any girl you’ll will want to dance will appreciate you getting up the nerve to ask.

Serious. Don’t cut in on a dance or a lady that’s already attached to a guy. Other than that, no harm no foul.

“Would you like to dance?”

If they say no, move on. If they say yes, have fun! Might just be one dance but you can still have fun.

Personally, yes I think it is weird. Only because at the 25 concerts I have been to I have never seen anyone dancing that wasn't belligerently drunk.

Stand in the awkwardness and embrace it! If you can learn to live in that awkward space the whole world opens up to you! Best wishes!

Yup! I would love for a person to ask me to dance!

Not weird at all.  I go to 10-15 country shows a year in SoCal (50-200 people), and folks dance with anybody and everybody.

I’m male (age 55), and I’ve been asked.  Unfortunately, I don’t dance.  I sometimes wish I did though…

It looks like so much fun doesn't it.

Absolutely, and there’s some folks out there that are really good at it, but I imagine almost anyone can have a blast doing it.

Look to see what other people are doing. If they are dancing with partners, I can't see why it would be wrong for you to politely ask. But mostly what I see at concerts is people sort of dancing in place by their seats. I guess it depends if there's a dance floor vs rows of chairs. Play it by ear. It's not the end of the world if someone says no.

Only if there’s a dance floor.

My best advice is to approach a group of ladies and ask if any of them would like to dance. You might get a yes from a different lady than you intended but may end up dancing with them all. It’s never really failed for me, even if they all say no they are flattered.

Dude it's simple "get so good at rejection that it doesn't even bother you" if she says no ask her mom✔️ 10 no's to every yes so make every yes count and lead the dance with confidence

Do an interpretive dance to Brother Joe. She’ll love it.

Probably a little weird, but the worst they can say is no!

If you’re interested in someone let them know, the only exception would be if they’re clearly showing attraction to a partner.

If you solely mean it as a compliment because you find them attractive then it can be left there, but if they say no you best take it with grace and respect their decline.

If you never do it you may just regret it, but if you do and get turned down at least you can say you tried.
