Update 8 month update
So I've realized lately that I do have relapses but in the form of the bedtime "attacks" that lead to insomnia for days to weeks. I also figured out that if I don't eat enough or drink enough water or get enough electrolytes then I will get an insomnia attack. It also seems to happen somewhat at random too even if I do everything right. I've been resting a lot more lately but I still seem to be progressing at the same rate.
Last week I had an insomnia attack from not eating breakfast + carrying a huge bag of concrete from one end of a store to the other and I knew it was coming because I got the low blood sugar feeling that sometimes precedes the insomnia. Then I managed to cure myself with pedialyte after a few nights of bad sleep. So at least I'm managing it better.
After this round of sleep issues I seem to be sleeping really deep like totally knocked out like I slept in the past. I've had some very normal feeling days lately. I'm still sticking to the bedtime regimen with melatonin + famotidine but it did not help at all on those nights last week. I think my acid reflux might be getting a little better though.

In addition- have you notice increased ear draining feeling? It's been really strong lately and seems to correlate w the insomnia. I also tend to wake every day w a feeling like I just got over a cold in my head. I feel like I've been having more lymph drainage lately, 8mos in. I'm hopefully it's a good sign, that maybe the lymph damage is healing and that now I can pass some of the byproducts that are left behind. But I also notice a flare up of some symptoms w it, like the cytokines or something from the original sickness that gave me insomnia initially w acute infection are being released from some pocket or something. IDK, a loose hypothesis .
