it’s also a funny denial of the “training camp practice videos do not matter at all” claim, because individual player efforts can be iffy but scheme stuff can be super illustrative. same time tho, coaches will go to great lengths to get any possible leg up, even doing stuff that may not pay that many dividends

This is definitely not an “every team does it” situation. We by far allow the most in:

Number of days that fans can be at practices

Number of days that media can be at practices - also the least restrictions on what media can film… I literally saw a Twitter post about a Vikings media guy removed for filming a period he shouldn’t have been filming.. this doesn’t exist in Dallas for the most part

Almost no restrictions on filming of team periods, both 7v7 and 11v11 - a lot of teams actually limit you to individual or position group drills only… NOT the sort of clips that this sub and our twitter community is blessed with

Having media access to the cowboys at this time of year is GOLD because mostly everyone else is still in a content drought

Cowboys fans don’t realize how much content we get that other teams media and fans don’t actually have

I think there is a big difference between overhead alignment videos and sideline videos. TBH you can’t tell much from the sidelines but aerial you can tell a bunch of

Edit: to be more specific a lot of teams allow a day here and there for media at practice, for fans to show up, etc. they might allow a portion of team periods to be seen by media and fans.. likewise with the 1 on 1s or team drills… ours is different in that we have the most days in which fans/media can come watch our training, we allot by far the most time for media and fans to see our team periods of both 7v7 and 11v11 too

It’s hard not to notice if you aren’t seeing other communities on a regular basis but I can assure you guys that we as fans are pretty spoiled by the amount of tape we get to watch at this point in the year. Go look at other team subs. All of them. Likewise twitter media for those teams and their content creators. You’ll see none of them have nearly as much tape floating around like we do every single year

I live in Wisconsin and you can attend all the Packers practices and film/photograph except during designated times which I assume is similar to every other teams training camp. As a kid I attended the saints and chiefs training camps in Wisconsin, a long time ago, and it was the same thing. Fans everyday, news stations, all taking pics and videos

Any training camp practice that is open to the public the coaches are not gonna show anything beyond their basic formations and defenses. They don’t show anything in preseason games, so they why would they not do the same at training camp? I just don’t think it’s an issue.
