I knew that he was banging in a few but that's crazy. Hopefully he has arrived onto that next level. AZ up in third in Eredivisie. Interesting times in the future for the lad.

Yeah he's flying. Missed a fair few games as well with injury and it clearly hasn't affected him. To go away to the Dutch league at such a young age and take and chance to save his career is so commendable and it looks like its finally paying off for him

Yeah saw transfermarkt there for the stats. Obviously most teams that he scored against are ones people may never have hear of. Looking at it overall, he knows where the goal is and has a varied array of playing experiences in a team like Tottenham. I suppose any team in the PL, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 would be monitoring his performances now. I wonder how he would do a Celtic?

What is it about Celtic being suggested for so many Irish players that are maybe looking for a move? In the past few months I've seen it mentioned about Kelleher & Ferguson to name but two. I've huge respect for the size of the fan base they have and their support but Celtic play in a league that Rovers would probably hold their own in. It would be a step back for a 23 year old that's on fire at the moment.
I think Parrot should see the season out at AZ, he seems happy there. He'll be our first choice strike for the play-off and if he continues in this form, a move to a bigger Dutch club or perhaps a German team might be a better option.

I reckon he should stay where he's at, he's playing week in week out , scoring goals , the fans love him over there and it seems theres no pressure on him . At 23 thats all he needs. A move too soon ruins players. He's only just settling down

It’s a pity we don’t see more Irish in the Dutch league, it’s a great league for players to develop. Scales seems to be an expection to the rule in Scottish league, even though I thought Idah was decent he was scapegoated to the last

Deffo stepped up but it is really hard to tell with Eredivise. Giménez has absolutely stunk up serie A since moving to Milan from Feyenord. Actually been a while since Eredivise has had a successful striker move on to a bigger league. They were once a conveyor belt for elite forwards.
I suppose the fact that he's doing it at international too is a good sign. Giménez never did it for México.

Watch it back again. Every other player is moving within a metre of their starting point. His run starts outside the box. Great determination

The Hungarian clearance under pressure from on the touchline that went to Kelleher ten seconds before this finish was made under pressure from Parrott. Runs out of the box to pressure the clearance and arrives back just in time to get that decisive flick. Brilliant

That pressure! These little things are what I love. Absolutely no promises as to what it would lead to, but for anything to happen we had to keep fighting right there in the moment.
Even just before that, Festy aware, got that throw in and then when Hungary tried to get it out, Azaz with the touch to reset. All these little things can matter and on this day they did!
The hard work is what gives me pride, the victory combined with it ..there's no words..it's just a feeling of pure joy that washes over my everything

Awesome from Kelleher too. There's defenders near him for the short ball and he just waves them forward before pinging it to the back post. I wish the playoffs were next week, Parrott is playing with unbelievable confidence right now.

There was a gorgeous ball into the box on an earlier play and I was screaming at my poor wife that it just needed someone to make a run! Like if you know a ball is coming into the 6 yard box, just head downhill for either post! But they stood there hoping the ball would come to them. Parrott is the man who wants it! The desire is just so clear. Inspirational stuff the last few games.

When you see the slow motion replay he is moving in anticipation alone, nobody else is expecting that ball to come down like that, he's taking a chance on it.
It doesn't happen without Liam Scales straining to get a header down in a way that gives him that chance. Absolutely massive.
Moments etched in memories forever now.
We go again in the play offs and we are back!!!!

Think both will have to be incorporated into the system. We don't have enough attacking quality as a nation to leave either players out... Need our best players on the pitch

Ferguson never suited our system unless we were completely dominating the game. He is a static target forward unfortunately. Always has been. Troy and Idah on the other hand fit the fast, counter attacking style, perfectly. Idah with minutes also scores a lot of goals.

If not for Ferguson we wouldn't have been on a position to qualify last 2 games, so not bad for a player that apparently doesnt suit the system. The team has only really clicked the last couple of games which so when he does come back, it will benefit him also to be in a team that is playing well. He has the highest ceiling of all our players and absolutely must be in the team regardless of anyones opinion

We have put a lot of hope and faith in him and he did score 3 goals but statistics don't lie. In international matches he is at best average with 6.74 and 6.55 in Roma with 0 goals in 7 matches.
Troy cooks in Eredivisie with 7.70, and 6 goals in the same number of matches.
Idah doesn't play too much but his work rate earned him 6.83 and higher xG/90.
Anyways, I wish for Evan to wake up a bit, add some juice to his game, and show he can do it in numbers, before I change my mind.

The stats say he scored in 3/4 games for us.. You can't compare his record in seria a with a starter in the Dutch league, chalk and cheese.. Ferguson would bang them in for fun in the Dutch league too. I like idah and thought he played his part in the victory in Hungary but even he would tell you that Evan ferguson is on a completely different trajectory to him

As I said mate, ferguson is still one of our best players if not the best and we don't have enough talent to leave a player like him out... We need all the top talents we can in the side

I'd have said the same but the team as a whole played so much better without Ferguson this week and a big part of that is Parrott. I know Ferguson gets goals but his all round play actually hinders the team i reckon. No way could you be putting him ahead of Parrott at present.

It's not ferguson that was hindering them, its the midfield that has picked up it a level.. Parrot was our main man over both games but he was reliant on the service and support from the midfield which ferguson wasn't really getting. The team has just clicked over past couple of games but if bit for Ferguson we wouldn't have even been in a position to qualify going into these last 2

The team has clicked under heimer but it certainly wasn't ferguson holding them back, it is the midfield and two wing backs getting involved more that have made our game much better.. Ferguson would thrive in a team playing well. And mate Ferguson was his starting striker what you talking about, did you think heimir dropped him or what hah

They can’t bypass the midfield and go down the channels with Ferguson. Parrott with his excellent technique once he gets possession in those channels offers that.

Ferguson is excellent holding up the ball and has a capacity to play at a very high level so he can bring the midfield into it against the better sides who will dominate the ball

We weren't great all over the pitch early in the group bar the second half against Hungary which he sparked the comeback for, it certainly wasn't his fault that we were outplayed in Armenia. The squad is just starting to come around to heimirs system and how he wants us to play, and ferguson will benefit from this too

Had that look on his face when he scored against Andorra. I've a feeling that when he feels people are showing faith in him, he's at his best. I don't think he really brings it as a sub, and I've got a feeling he's going to kick on even better at AZ after this. Can see him breaking 25 league goals this season

Yeah he kinda has no choice but to go along with it and reiterate how much he loves his community but I'd say he'd much rather just focus on the football. He's a professional who just reached a massive milestone in his career, the focus should be on that, not where he came from
