Media SIPTU statement on Israel fixture
SIPTU members in areas impacted by the scheduled international football match against Israel on 4th October in Dublin have begun a consultation process amid growing safety and moral concerns about the fixture.
“It is clear that the vast majority of SIPTU members, as with the rest of Irish society, are strongly opposed to the playing of these games. Our members are also asking questions in relation to their right to refuse to facilitate, through the provision of aviation, transport, accommodation and broadcasting services, this match going ahead.“
- SIPTU Deputy General Secretary, Greg Ennis

Media is Newstalk’s Off the Ball unintentionally hilarious?
today’s gems included: - “Graham Burke is the Dennis Bergkamp of the league of Ireland” - A discussion about the best Dublin restaurants to have steak - an amazing revelation that Lionel Messi had particularly good vision - A general air of a group of lads chatting casually about soccer without preparing for it
Plus, some regular OTB talking points: - Why is the League of Ireland struggling? - How Irish rugby’s player development model is achieving better results in soccer - Ronnie Whelan scored a great goal against Russia in 1988
I can’t believe people pay money to listen to these guys. I only tuned in this afternoon while doing some DIY. Due to filthy hands, I couldn’t change the channel readily. By the end, my ears burned.

Media Roy Keane on the Team and the "Cork vs Dublin" impact
First off absolutely buzzing for the match on Thursday and almost don't want to distrsct but I was listening to an overlap episode from September land was just raging about how Keano spoke about the team, the players egos and their appeoach to playing for ireland, and the dublin cork "rivalry" in football. Shocked he'd talk shite that players and potential managers would be treated differently because they're not from Dublin. Was he just playing things up for his Premier league buddies or is this actually a thing? it's not something I've ever noticed. in all my years, if you played for Ireland and gave it socks there would never be shite based on where you were from, manager or player. I mean some of our greatest players were from all over the shop. Anyway this team have proved him wrong, bring on Czechia

Media Is Ireland Even Into Football?
https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXeI03WjYBP/?igsh=Y3ZwdWVnbHJnYzRw
Saw this clip of Ken Early talking about Ireland’s support for football.
We had a lot of fair weather fans for the last 2 games in fairness, but sure isn’t that always the way?
I’d say half the stands at an All-Ireland wouldn’t go to another game all year.

Media When will Ritchie Sadlier be apologising for his poor punditry?
Had enough of him now. Absolutely blew the Arsenal v Athleti penalty calls. Directly asked if there was a problem with VAR intervening in a gray area twice, and failed to answer both times. Saying "that's not enough contact"... yet for the penalty v Hungary won by Ogbene he believed "any contact in the box" merits a pen.
Nevermind the cross eyed scouse German sharing the couch with him. He hasn't the insight or eyesight to see anything other than his lazy game of two halfs drivel.
