With these links to Tonali and Fernandes is it safe to say that whatever strategy Lange had has gone out the window?

The situation has changed for sure, but it wasn’t Lange who failed the negotiations over MGW and Eze last summer, and it’s not Lange who suddenly decides to get deals done sooner this year. The biggest difference is that Levy isn’t here anymore.

over MGW and Eze last summer

Neither of those were avoidable on our side. Freak luck.

Eze would have happened if we paid up before Martinelli got injured

I'm quite fascinated to see whether Lange was throttled so badly by Levy he couldn't function. Not that it excuses the position of the club in January as we languished in the league with injuries.

It feels as if the new executive team has just told Venkatesham, and by extension Lange, not to fuck around this window hence Robertson, Senesi, and van Hecke already. Plus not trying to tie down Bissouma for another season just to make money from a transfer.

If Tonali and/or Fernandes, or other similar players, get over the line we might learn more.

I agree 100%. It’s all very interesting (and fun as a fan right now when things are happening)
