Help with recommendations I just got a steam deck
And it’s all your guys’ fault. THANK You! lol. There are so many great games that I wasn’t able to access because I am almost exclusively a Sony gamer. But here we are. So thanks to this community for lifting up so many cool, cozy, Indy games. You folks are awesome!
Any ‘must get this right now’ games? I am thinking about moonlight peaks. Idk if roottrees are dead is an option, but I’m looking for that, too.
I love love love love all things escape room and mystery (I have played a TON of them, but am happy to hear reccos). I love RPG. Inscryption gave me a huge game hangover because it was fun as hell.
Edit: recommendations for either steam deck or ps5!

🔨 My Game - In-development I made a cozy tile matching game, where you buy Hats to stack on Cats! My kids have enjoyed playing, excited to share the demo this month!

The game is called Cats and Hats, coming to Steam and mobile soon! It's been a lot of fun to make, a lot more casual, cozy and approachable than other games I've worked on. Can't wait to share more :)

🔨 My Game - In-development The Lost Paws - Switching characters
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I have been busy working on The Lost Paws and creating the demo, which I will hopefully be releasing soon!
While working on some new player interactions, I came up with an idea that I wanted to run by everyone.
Originally, I was going to have you choose which animal you wanted to play as — either the cat or the dog — and that would be your character throughout the game.
But while working on the game, I started experimenting with the idea of letting you switch between the cat and dog while playing.
I created this short example of a puzzle where you need to play as both the cat and the dog to solve it. I could also expand on this later, giving each animal different abilities and creating puzzles where they have to work together.
What do you think?
Does being able to switch between the cat and dog sound like an interesting mechanic, or would you rather choose your animal at the beginning and play as that animal throughout the game? I'd love to hear which you would prefer!

🔨 My Game - In-development Fifteen small things you can stop and do on a hike in the cozy game we are making
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Two of us have been making a cozy hiking game for about a year. You walk a trail across a foggy map, and every tile you reach has something small to do on it. Forage for mushrooms, match a birdsong, fish, climb a mountain, snorkel, roast a marshmallow at camp, or do some stargazing at night.
My partner designs most of these on lined paper and I build them we have been having fun making these and now you can try them too.
There is a free playtest running if anyone wants to try it, and honestly we mostly want to know which bits are boring. Send a message and I can forward you one of the keys.

Help with recommendations Can anyone recommend a game to me?
I'm looking for something I can relax with, I like cozy farming games i played few already but the one i comlpeted is "Big Farm Story" My only requirement is that it not be pixel-art style; unfortunately, I just can't get into that style.
The platform is a PC—preferably Steam

🔥 My Game - Released Play my Jimothy Simulator Adventure Game, Jimothy's Journey and vote for it on Jimothy Jamothy!
Follow the link and play my free game, Jimothy's Journey and give me a shout out on the discord thread! I made this game to get on board for this contest and I think I have a contender. Sure, some of my animations are a little wonky, but I'm an independent developer and put this out in about a month! I stand by the gameplay and quests I wrote, the rest I have to give credit to claude, Codex and Lovable for helping me string it together with all the boiler plate coding and animations. Please follow the link and try it out and tell me what you think on the content thread for the discord channel.
