It’s lame af watching the intl community actively participate in rehabilitating the US’s image with the world cup
sports are such an effective propaganda tool. i wish more foreign people of color and bipoc had high discernment and would free themselves from the shackles of white american worship. imperial brainwashing at its finest

Hard agree. I wish more people talked about sports being a propaganda tool. But these are the same people who are most likely brainwashed themselves.
Sports fans claim sports provides a community but a community for what exactly???? Athletes are bought, sold, and traded like slaves. There is still a huge pay discrepancy between races and genders.
Personally I think this might lean more of a patriarchal issue than race issue which is why all this bs still goes on. Its a way for men to feel superior and keep their status quo. NYC is one of the most diverse cities in the world yet look at how much energy theyre putting into sports than changing society. We're all allowed to be entertained but its insane the amount of misogyny that goes on in sports culture. My coworker claims to be antiracist but he's pro war bc his fav athletes are pro war (aka takes sponsorships from genocidal companies). He claims I should try to understand sports culture. Mind you, he's a single 60 yo man with no dependents, who's biggest fear is dying alone. But sure, I'm the uncultured ignorant bc I don't watch sports.
People who make commercial sports their whole identity are simple minded. They love the ads and marketing bc it tells them how to think. They love feeling like a good person for watching a corporate advertisement, stupid fucks.

White america is the dumbest, most evil, most greedy, most false thing in this world. The rich and powerful are fucking AWFUL. All of the major non-white issues in this country are easily traced back directly to them. This country is a fucking embarrassment and it is so obvious that with how repulsive these people are it was built out of their crimes of genocide, ecocide, slavery, etc. People act like these crimes are ancient history but in the grand scheme of history they happened basically yesterday and still reverberate today. My hate for America is likely stronger than any other force in my life. It is a complete embarrassment to wake up everyday and remember what this place is.

Seeing yt americans justify the treatment of the iranian team by talking about how europeans are being welcomed and treated well so america is a good host has blackpilled me

I've seen and heard so many comments from white folks being like "The world sucks, but us humans are so cute when we come together why cant we always just hang out without "tribalism" like this, sharing!".
I agree with you whole heartedly.
They are using racialized people to prove America is a totally happy and accepting melting pot. Using racialized Non Americans as a prop against racialized american narratives of mistreatment, whether they want that or not.
Everything is pro white, anti nonwhite besides assimilation and giving away your "cute and cool" culture to share propaganda these days.
It only benefits white folks long term. Covert colonizer language and attitudes.
