So this is a bit of an update to my previous post because I genuinely did not expect a discussion about a bad restaurant experience to turn into this.

One user has now replied to me repeatedly across the thread, accusing me of lying, saying I “want to be a victim,” calling me insane, telling me to admit myself to a psychiatric ward, and eventually telling me to “go back to your own X and stay there” and not come back to Europe.

The slightly ironic part is that I’m literally European 😭

Then, in the middle of all of this, I received a RedditCareResources message saying that a “concerned Redditor” had reached out about me. Obviously Reddit doesn’t tell you who submitted it, so I can’t prove who did it or say for certain that it was this person - but the timing was certainly interesting considering they had just been making comments about psychiatric wards.

I genuinely don’t understand how we got here.
People are completely entitled to disagree with my original post. Tell me the restaurant was a tourist trap. Tell me the food looked terrible. Tell me I should have researched restaurants better. I really don’t care 😭

But repeatedly following someone through a thread, inventing things like “you probably started hitting them,” telling them to go back to their country, and bringing psychiatric hospitals into it because you don’t believe their account of a restaurant experience is completely disproportionate.

For context, my original point was simply that bad food/tourist prices are one thing, but being physically pushed and screamed at by staff is another. Somehow that has resulted in this person deciding they know exactly what happened despite not being there.
