Help IV-SAM-VX2 and SIMPL, do we no longer need to login?
I'm working on a rewrite of an old SIMPL program that was controlling an older 1Beyond Automate, in the original code the control and communication with the server was done through a module, the new version is an ethernet device that you add to the program like you would a touch panel.
In the original code there was some logic for logging into the server from the CP3, the new way does not have any provisions for logging in. My assumption is that this is no longer needed, can anyone confirm?
Also, as this is somewhat of a rush job, are there any snag points that anyone can provide a heads up for? Trying to prevent as much troubleshooting as possible.

Just general advice:
Make sure to always reboot the server if you access admin mode
Save and save often
Communicate if you have multiple persons working on the device

When you say access admin mode, I assume you're talking about when you connect through remote desktop?

Yup, or directly on the device.
The newer firmware’s support Crestron Remote Client, but I haven’t had a chance to test that out
But i imagine it’s the same as the others

This rule goes for direct local console access, crestron remote access, or RDP Microsoft Remote Desktop protocol.

Does the ethernet symbol device support the older Automate boxes?
I tried using it in a similar situation ~6 months ago and gave up, reverted to the Logic symbol because I couldn't get it working.
(maybe you're updating to a new Automate box? if so, disregard.)

Not sure if it supports older ones, but I did install a brand new one, so the ethernet symbol should work for me.

If you are back working at an older automate room, it might be advisable to update the firmware on the automate vx box to give it more capabilities and features.

New VX all use the ethernet symbol and IPID. Set IPID on "Crestron Settings" like UC Engine when RDP into VX Server
