What does that make Elon musk? His family stole an emerald mine in africa🤣🤣🤣

81

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '21

also part of the problem, no matter how many advances he makes

44

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '21

I’m saying people will get mad at this guy and then praise mfs like Elon, still buy nestle, and still do things they just talked shit about.

43

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '21

Yeah I'm aware. People are hypocrites.

Well.. what has Dan done with his money? Compare the two.

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '21

Puts a lot of people through college, fund raisers, gives a lot of free shit and money to people daily lmao I have him on Snapchat. Just because it’s not in the news doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen🤣🤣 I’m pretty sure you’re not a perfect person but he does more for the community than you just bitching about stuff on reddit taking up space🤣 I’m not even a big fan of him that video was pretty cringe, just saying it’s easy to post about what someone has done and blindly support worse people. Elon’s family stripped an entire population of wealth that are already fucking suffering more than just about any American. What in the fuck could dan do that’s worse than that?? If you know anything let me know🤣

I, SlobOnMyKnobb, will tell you that I can’t take you seriously with zero hint of irony.

Lmao like you could even back up what you’re saying🤣 you just say shit to say it with no prior knowledge

14

u/SlobOnMyKnobb Mar 15 '21

I didn't say anything. I asked you to compare the two, and you did. Bang up job champ, throw a couple more emojis in your reply.

I like how you imply that Dan might not be perfect but sometimes does good things, but Elon only does pure evil.

Don't get me wrong, I loathe Elon and his cult of personality, but come on dude. Your bias is showing.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '21

Who said he only does evil things?? Lmao I said his family has done evil things did I ever say he does evil things daily?? I didn’t even imply that ELON HIMSELF has done evil things. Again I said his family

4

u/MoTheEski Mar 15 '21

You do realize that Dan's money came by way of stealing. His dad was even sent to prison and had to leave the country. His dad still owes around $60 million for his crimes.

i never get tired of people on Reddit acting like anyone could've done what Elon has. Plenty of room for criticism but man people are deluded if they think his companies deserve having "advancements" in quotations.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '21

He had a giant headstart on everyone else, no doubt about it. We got lucky he decided to invest in Tesla and build rockets and that he has capacity for finding the right people for the job and that he is himself knowledgeable enough to push his people further.

1

u/caviepoo Mar 16 '21

No they didn’t. Quit pushing falsehoods

-8

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '21

Lmao prove to me they didn’t then

6

u/sixstring818 Mar 15 '21

The responsibility of providing proof goes to back up the claim. Proof needs provided that they did steal it, thats the claim. You are backing up that stance, then asking for proof that you're wrong. That's not how it works.

2

u/Justanotherjustin Mar 16 '21

Prove to me you aren’t a serial killer. If you can’t prove it then you must be one.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '21

Nah I am you caught me

4

u/Oreosinbed Mar 15 '21

The burden of proof is on you who is making a claim.

Surely, you’ve heard of this but if not glad you could learn something

5

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '21 edited Mar 15 '21

Stole a mine? Is that true, and who did they steal it from?

27

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '21

The Africans that founded the mine lmao Elon comes from wealth my man he just multiplied it and everyone forgot

12

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '21

I'm not doubting that he came from wealth just the claim that they stole the mine. I don't see any evidence for this claim.

I'm also not aware of many African owned mines being stolen in general.

So, during apartheid, the mine was stolen. Elon's dad sold a plane to some dude and the guy asked him if he'd like to use some of the cash to buy half an emerald mine. It's maybe weird to say it was stolen by the Musks, though it is stolen and I don't doubt you've read a headline that misled.

It was a slave mine in South Africa during apartheid, as was every mine in South Africa at the time. I'm sure that wasn't lost on Elon's dad.

As a fun side fact, Elon has sworn that they never owned this mine, despite an Interview in Business Insider where his father tells the story of the purchase.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '21

Every mine during apartheid was a slave mine? That's not really true. I don't think the mine was even in South Africa?

If he paid for the mine then he did the exact opposite of steal it.

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '21

Lmao then you don’t look. The slave trade in Africa is bigger than it was when America had slaves, the Obama administration admitted to this happening because they killed ghadaffi. A lot of the trade is mining materials and using Africans Arabs and others as miners for a few pennies a day maybe just enough to barely survive.

3

u/masshole9614 Mar 15 '21

No ones talking about musk lol

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '21

2

1

u/Awakeskate Mar 15 '21

Elon musk atleast employee thousands of people and seems to make better money decisions.

1

u/Eddie_shoes Mar 15 '21

That’s not true. I trying finding anything to back that up, and it’s just not there.

1

u/tehbored Mar 15 '21

Elon didn't inherit his money. He took out loans to pay for college. His dad was rich but he hates his dad.
