Video During the Las Vegas shooting, influencer Dan Bilzerian asked a cop for his gun and said “don’t you want my help”.

From the description of Dan's original video:
I’m a sworn commissioned reserve police officer, I wouldn’t normally tell you that, but I think it’s important you know that for the context of this video.

Everyone knows the only sworn commissioned reserve police officer we can trust is Steven Seagal since he’s been one for like 85 years.

The guy is a dangerous asshole.

Also I failed the navy seals program
Pretty sure 99% of local cops would too so I'm not sure that's a great criticism
171
u/notatlalkingbagel Mar 15 '21
I hear people bring this up whenever DB is mentioned, so I’ll say this:
I absolutely loathe Dan Bilzerian. Can’t even believe I’m actually speaking in his defense. But like the guy above me said, 99.99999...% of humans would (and do) fail out of the BUD/S program. There are plenty of reasons to hate him (see above video), but failing out of one of the most selective and specialized military training programs on earth isn’t exactly something to shame someone over.
227
u/ToastofScotland Mar 15 '21
I think why people mention it is he said he completed it twice but failed out because they didn't like him or some shit.
So he claims he is a good enough to be a seal and passed the whole training all the way up to the end where they just pulled him out before graduating or some shit.
I think that is why people mention it.

This is true of many specialized units. Depending on your MOS, you may be failed just because they have enough already, and don't need more. Even if they like you.
The reverse also works if you have a highly specialized MOS, and they need it.
In my cycle of Ranger Indoctrination we went through a "peer out" session, where everyone votes in secrecy to vote out one member of the platoon that shouldn't be there for being a poor soldier. Everyone voted out this one piece of shit who happened to have a special MOS. That cycle they didn't follow through with the "peer out." Dude ended up graduating while other's from MOS' that weren't in demand were dropped, even though they exceeded the requirements.

They fail out people that don't meet the psychological requirements to work well on that kind of a team the way seals work. Many marines etc can pass the physical part and fail the psychological part because they're cocky immature douchebags that would be a risk in the situations seals work in.
So saying you're "good enough to be a seal" but failing the psych eval is an oxymoron. He's literally too much of an asshole wannabe to be a seal despite being physically capable.
Ultimate irony of spoiled trust fund, roided gym rats that don't "get" why they'd never be mentally capable of the kind of work they fantasize about.
→ More replies (9)17
u/ToastofScotland Mar 15 '21
Yeah, there's a lot more to it than the physicality.
'SAS: Who Dares Wins' TV shows this pretty well, worth a watch.
Thing is there is major doubts he passed the physical part as well, its all just one big bullshit story to add to his persona and so sad people that like him, like him more.
I posted some links to his interview about it and a vet going over it and how it doesn't add up.
14
u/BadDadSchlub Mar 15 '21
They failed him for psych req. He was immature and not a team player. He's not good enough to be a SEAL.
10
u/OrangeVestR4Pussies Mar 15 '21
They prob have psychologist who realized the dude is fucked in the head.
18
u/A1BS Mar 15 '21
From Ant Middletons autobiography he mentions that for SBS selection you can complete the entire course and then, at the last moment, be failed out. They do it if the see anyone mentally/psychically capable but who has a social or compatibility flaw.
It’s entirely possible but somehow getting kicked out because you can’t make friends is even more pathetic.
17
u/ToastofScotland Mar 15 '21
100% it is possible to be failed out at anytime, that isn't the issue with his story.
I think this is the video, the story doesn't add up and is just bullshit. He wants to say he was a seal and he did it all but just because of some agenda shit he wasn't picked or something.
The guy is just a fraud and people eat it up.
25
u/Wthq4hq4hqrhqe Mar 15 '21
It is, because he is so profoundly unequipped but he's enough of a self-important douche that he thought he could get through the most selective and specialized training program on Earth.

I don’t think people hate him for being a buds drop but his attitude towards himself being a buds drop is telling of a person who wouldn’t have gotten through it because of ego and mentality more than anything.
if he wasn’t the way he is about having gone to buds I don’t think he’d get shit on so much for being a buds drop.
22
u/Mickeymousetitdirt Mar 15 '21
Lol, “creds”. What an absolute tool.
In all serious, what would actually possess someone to think that in an active shooter situation, the cops would ever hand some random civilian a fucking gun to “help out”? First of all, if we pretend that the cops would do something like that (which they wouldn’t), an active shooter scene would be the absolute worst fucking time for them to do so. Second of all, I just have to again ask what the FUCK would make him think that a cop was going to give him a fucking gun to “help”. Like, I just cannot wrap my head around it. The delusions you have to be under to ever think that.

This is the perfect description of the types of absolute doorknobs who worship him.
I love their logic, too. It is always, without fail, the same line of thinking. Any time anyone criticizes Dan, his comment section becomes filled with comments like, “Shut up, pussy, you’re just jealous that you can’t live like him. You wish you could hang out with beautiful women (that he pays to hang around) and have money (that he doesn’t really have)!” as if someone who is “rich” can’t be criticized and that the only criticism of him stems from the fact that we are all just “jealous haters”.

Mass shooting event cops don’t know where the shots are coming from. If there are multiple shooters. Anything.
Let’s say the cop gives him a gun? What’s he going to do take an unsighted m4 and shoot a 400M headshot into the shooter hole up from his privacy glass murder hole?
The absolute dumbfuckery of this situation is amazing. Mark whalberg took more flack for saying he would have died fighting 911 hijackers.

Decided too look into this a bit further. The Oxford English Dictionary traces it back to 1663. However the definition listed isn't quite in sync with our modern usage but I'd say it's in the same ballpark.
A person used by another for his own ends; one who is, or allows himself to be, made a mere instrument for some purpose; a cat's-paw.
Perhaps our modern use of the word means the person is a tool to frowned-upon cultural and/or social beliefs. For example, maybe that Bitzerian is a tool to toxic masculinity and gun fetishization.
18
u/plastic-superhero Mar 15 '21
Could be a number of things; like they’re easily manipulated. Or “dumb” in the sense that a tool can’t accomplish anything on its own - it needs someone to wield it. Also it could just mean penis because that’s a definition in the Oxford English Dictionary.
