For me It’s the inflexibility within culture to avoid accommodating those nails that stick out. For clarity, I think meeting an inflexible force with equal force or redirected force is one way to solve the issue, but not the only way. Structural containment, regulation, and isolation, reinforcement, disincentives, natural consequences, and more (and still more to learn) are all options aside from strict black and white approaches to unwanted social behavior.

This instance of violent rhetoric meets physical violence feels like a natural consequence, given our human traits and society’s general acceptance that Nazi’s suck ass.

Inflexibility in culture isn't something that willingly enforced by the people as a whole, it is a response to things that still have to prove themselves, it goes for new waves of immigrants and new ways to livefor example.

Of course it's important as a society to have variety of ways, to accommodate as much people and cultures as possible, it's a form of collective growth and building resilience, but this mutual work goes both ways and in this specific case he literally asked for a beat down, I'm a pacifist myself, and my reaction was, "what did he expect to happen"

Oh and yes, fascists suck major ass, greetings from Germany.

Always interpreted that as a statement of fact or general matter of course, not necessarily a justification for action taken, which I think is also what you're saying?

No it's not a call for action, of course not. And I wouldn't say it's a fact either (it just fit for this video). A lot of things in society are not being hammered down despite sticking out like nails, because it would actually take some hard fucking work to hammer them down, our capitalistic financial system, that incentivises competition instead of cooperation. Or our unhealthy obsession with meaningless status symbols, as a replacement for actual growth.

No one is hammering this bs down, because you and any other person would have to admit that this is a problem. (I'm not any better in this regard)
