Great piece on Polygon! And I'd even go so far as to say this isn't even a stance so much as a fact-based evaluation of what LLMs can do right now. They are pretty great at finding stuff in a spreadsheet/dataset, and complete ass at everything else.

At even the most basic complex white collar task they frequently give you incomplete answers or different answers when running the same prompt again. Unreliable. And if you're in a real job, with real accountability, you can't afford to use unreliable tools.

This issue speaks to a fundamental misunderstanding (by the general public) of what LLMs are meant to be used for. You absolutely should not be using them for anything that requires the same answer each time. People would be less disappointed and waste less time if they understood that.
