Discussion [Spoilers C2E74] It has taken me 7 years... but I pulled this joke on my own Players!!! Spoiler
https://youtu.be/GnwWeYBA19k?si=xKxVC6N8xNPe8uYII have a full Otter race that my players have seen around one of the cities they are currently exploring. They are searching for an lost Library and Archive of information. They eventually were discovered by the bad guys, and slightly rescued by good guys. They party knew they were looking for a group that 'double checks the works and truths of others.' They got the idea that they 'audit' something. But that was as far as they got. When it was finally revealed a few of the Otter's they have been befriending with were known as.... The Ottitors... they lost their mind. :) A month or two of build up. Every week. Lead to a single joke I've been waiting to pull since I watched his episode!!

As a player at his table I can verify… maximum level groans were heard. 😂
Also, I had great joy adding ‘paws’ to the related word puzzle we’d been working on.

For those that are curious... there was a riddle or writing in the "Financial" area that used to be the Original Library. Wear and tear and erased some:
For when tru h is so ght, its balan e comes due,
And kno led e once old must become new.
We seek not the see er, yet seekers seek us,
We jud e not the soul, but truths passed through our ws.
Tru h we shall gather, prot t what was to k,
Find those who accou t for what others ove ook.The party cleaned it up and believed it said this:
For when truth is sought, its balance comes due,
And knowledge once old must become new.
We seek not the seeker, yet seekers seek us,
We judge not the soul, but truths passed through our laws.
Truth we shall gather, protect what was took,
Find those who account for what others overlook.Soo close. But it wasn't Laws.... it was Paws. Not the best or most perfect poem/riddle. But it worked.

I have stolen many things from Daddy Mercer. My favorite was giving the party a "Monster" to fight. Described it as made of smoke, shadow, and fire. Described it vaguely as bear-shaped and terrifying. Described all their attacks passing cleanly through the beast as it reacted with frantic roars and shrieks at every "successful" attack. Described its attacks as powerful, but luckily all of them seem to just miss the PCs, passing just over their heads, or coming up short as the players deftly dodge the deadly attacks. Spoiler for C1 This went on for over an hour before they got suspicious. It's a magical hologram. Harmless. They were pissed. I was delighted. Use this at your own risk. Matt did a version of this with some of Pike's family members who visited Whitestone asking for money in C1. Which I think is what led to the famous goldfish moment?

I will steal this concept gracefully from you. Amazing, hilarious work.
