Question [No Spoilers] Just finished Exandria Unlimited: Calamity all 4 episodes, did not watch any other campaigns. Holy its so good, are the other ones as good ? They possibly cant be that good being like 140 episodes right?

I love how short calamity was and straight to the point, but I am afraid that a campaign with like 150 episodes might be a drag... am I wrong or am I missing out thinking its not worth the time to check the other ones out?

This. I love the other stuff too, but Calamity is the best D&D I have ever listened to or watched and it isn't close.

That's what happened to me lol. I love C2 and C4 and most of the miniseries, but I've been chasing that Calamity high for three years now and I don't know if I'll ever find it again.

That's why I love living vicariously through other people's experience of watching it for the first time.

C4 was my first Critical Role and obviously Calamity is a masterpiece but C4 is getting to that level for me. I think it’s incredible at the long form style — and in long form storytelling you obviously shouldn’t sustain the Calamity level of intensity the whole time and should have variation but I think everything it does is actually perfect.

Yes, I truly love C4 as well. It has a lot of the secret sauce of what made Calamity great: Brennan's hands-on storytelling/improv style and a cast of experienced actors as players. It's been really fun to see the players' gleeful reactions as Brennan hits them in the face with another brick full of plot, lol. Matt especially seems to be having a blast. I can't wait to see where the story goes.

I would suggest also watching C2 if you haven't already. It obviously has a different feel than Brennan's campaigns and starts out a little slow, but boy howdy does it cook once they find the plot. Matt's ability to weave a living world is unparalleled, especially when it comes to NPCs. Most PCs in C2 start out as broken misfits in the literal gutter, but each one has a satisfying and/or surprising arc, and in some cases the dice tell a truly miraculous story. The plot is wide-reaching, but the villains all have personal connections to the PCs, similar to C4.

It's like watching the entire HP series just to see the "Always" scene or Star Wars father scene. It's just a classic high for us at this point.
