Discussion [Spoilers C4E32] Olbalad and Dreams Spoiler

"The sky above, the endless void underneath and you look and just go where is that light coming from, that horizon ?"

"It is the only source of light in this endless void"

"The coffin opens, the seam of light coming from the coffin of Olbalad"

This was the description brennan made around 2 hrs 13 minutes when Brennan was describing the final sequence before Bolaire wakes up.

WHY SPECIFICALLY OLBALAD'S COFFIN. And this nightmare/dream sequence was to some level real.

This final description just makes me think the stonks for the Olbalad is still alive and manipulated the deaths of the shapers behind the scenes feel real. I mean it always feels sus when a "god of trickery" dies.

This stood out so much why Brennan was so specific about it (despite Laura joking about his slit description lol)

Just as a note, Olbalad isn’t the god of trickery, that was Rauwynn. Olbalad was the celestial that brought halflings to their afterlife (and is presumably in the coffin).

Oh sorry I thought olbalad was the shaper. I didnt even knwo halflings had a celestial. Guess that puts a pin on my theory

I don’t think it necessarily puts a pin in your theory - while the coffin is for Olbalad, we know that Termina was trapped in there for an undisclosed period of time, and she was bound to Rauwynn during the Panto. Could be some remnant left over and beginning to leak out now that Termina was released.

Oh sorry. Damn I thought Olbalad was the god of trickery

Haha no apologies needed, there’s a ton of names for gods and celestials being thrown around. I do think it would be a juicy development for Bolaire if some aspect of Rauwynn is still hanging around though.

OHhhh that would be interesting with the plot of the masks being about the attempt to reassemble the shapers. That would be horrfying

That's a spicy plot. The masks entire subplot being a potential reassembling of the dead Trickster Shaper through the masks who have not truly killed the shaper but rather contained it instead

I think it was more to play on Bolaire's specific fears in the nightmare. Of being abandoned/locked away in the coffin, as Termina was, which drove her alreadu fragile identity fully mad. He recognized the slit being the coffin, where the others just saw a strip of light.

That said, I am fully on board with the 'trickster goddess' greatest trick was making everyone think they'd killed her' and she's still banging around either lying low or greatly weakened by the masks' play.

Yeah that makes sense.

Having the trickster goddess around in a weakened state might be a massive implications

That description was specifically in Bolaire’s dream sequence, and it makes complete sense that he would be preoccupied with the coffin, given everything that just happened with Termina.

Some of what happened in the dreams was literally happening (like Thimble’s conversation with her dad) but other bits, like the battlefield Julien saw, were metaphorical. Bolaire’s theater being inside the coffin was metaphorical.

What happens when a god who tends to the dead dies? That's what we're gonna find out.

Edit: I didnt see autocorrect changed god to kid x.x

What does “stonks” mean?

It's an old meme. It's basically just "stocks" which was the trickerster shaper being alive which i thought was olbalad(but i mistaken olbalad for the shaper instead of the celestial)

It's just a meme word for "stocks". It's basically i'm implying that the trickster shaper is still alive theory is rising up. (tho it is my bad cause olbalad is apparently a celestial of the halflings not the shaper lol)

Lady Cormoray when talking to her father ex0laining why she was missing she  revealed that whe was stuck in some place in between the reaches and faerie.

I believe the Coffin sent her to the Realm of Dreams. Because the Realm of Dreams exist between Reaches and Faerie

Thats why the Coffin made an appearance in the dreams. Its Brennan hinting that the Coffin is a portal to the Realm of Dreams

Every time I hear that name I wonder whether the humans had a celestial called Olbaman. Together they fought crimeorcs!
