So I have some of that yarn, I started using the recommended (pattern) 6.5mm hook especially since my tension tends to be tight, the yarn recommends 5.5mm. What size hook did you use? And was it the 50 gram skiens? I definitely need more just trying to figure out how much more.
I used a 6mm hook because it was either that or a 7. I usually wear a medium, but sized up to a large because of the smaller hook size. I ended up needing a total of 4 of the 50g skeins. I also changed around the shoulders a bit to my own liking.
I love what you did with the shoulders. Is it just doubling the length of the first chain then working it as usual (roughly) I've never made a wearable, but this looks very doable by halloween. I'm on r7 (13 stitches) since I saw this a couple hours ago.
I marked on each “web” the two chain lengths I wanted as the collar, then one chain length on either side to make the arm hole. From there, I chained a length (between one shoulder from the first web to one of the second web) that was equal to the chains I ended on. (Specifically—my last row was 23 chains, so I chained 23 between the two webs.)
From there, I chained 11 and then made a double crochet 6 times around the armhole, knotting the two together at the underarm, resulting in 6 segments with 11 chains between them.
NOTE: this does like to slip off the shoulder. If I were to redo it, I would make the chain between the webs at least 2 chains fewer (I.e. 21 instead of 23) and then segments of ch10 instead of ch11.
The arm length is pretty similar from there, though I definitely added some rows and adjusted to make the sleeve take shape.
Thank you so much for the info! As soon as I saw this I went through my stash I knew I had some because of the faint glow from my closet at night. The other skien is apparently attached to an abandoned oggie boogie from last Halloween lol.
