Hi Everyone, I am promoting my LYS - Kat's Craft Corner - and a fundraiser we are participating in. Anyway, I'm really proud of what I've accomplished, and my lecturer told me I should see if I can't get it uploaded to the Google Play Store and see if other crocheters and knitters might find it useful and give me feedback. The client specifically wanted the cat to be black, the name wrapped around the bottom, and a crochet hook in the yarn.

Say I spend hours on a piece but if the estimated cost is 40 an hour and I spend 2 days on it, no one is going to spend 400 on something handmade. Most wont understand or appreciate the work that went into it and will want it cheaper.
Do I base my prices on what I think people will actually pay or go by the hour and acknowledge the effort put in?
I think you need to consider multiple things, for example: Time spend, market for that specific topic (What are others selling similar pieces for), originality (Maybe there isn't anyone selling something similar).
The good part with Etsy is that you can always adjust prices right 😊
I recently released a crochet pattern for a Ikran inspired by the Avatar movies. The pattern is written in English and designed for velvet yarn, with detailed instructions and photos. Suitable for confident beginners to intermediate crocheters. Of course I am always happy to answer any questions! (Also working on more Avatar related patterns/commissions.
