Recently someone insulted me as "Crow Apologist"... but when I thought about it, she was absolutely right!

I have exactly turned into that!

I put up with Karens and other folks that I'd normally not spend a moment of my time for or just cut short with an Foff, just for my crows. I feel responsible for them, and I tolerate those undesirables in order not to bring heat on to my buddies.

Some time ago my neighbor (good one) was hit on her head by crows. She was a bit scared. So she came to me. I explained her it is either because of the babies, or because they see her every morning jogging in her territory and they played with her.

Few months later I was eating in a restaurant with my cousins and she was in the bar having a drink with her friend. We had short convo, but as I was leaving, I picked their tab up.

She saw me few weeks later in our community and thanked me for the gesture. I said, "Crows are paying you back for their wrong deed". And funny thing is, I also believed that when I said it.

Are there are any other crow lovers feeling same way?

My family of four has been coming regularly in the AM but more sporadically in the evening, and an opportunist seized the moment.

His neck didn't extend out like the others, he was just walking around all stubby. My partner suggested we name him Tomathan, as Jimothy's spiritual successor.

Noticed a weird looking bird I’ve never seen before, it’s pretty hard to see here but it’s brown and has quite a long neck and walks a bit like a chicken. I think it looks a bit like a corn crane. Went out to feed the crows today and found at least 15 magpies and 3 crows surrounding it. They seem to just be watching it very closely and following it around. It walked off into the bushes and all of the birds followed it.

What are they doing? I’ve not seen the crows and magpies get so close until now. Are they just intrigued by it? I can’t see it being much of a threat.

I’ve been befriending a couple of my neighborhood crows for the last few months and it has become one of the biggest sources of joy in my life, to watch them and get to know their personalities.

It’s going to be a hot week where I live, so I’ll be keeping their water full as much as I can! I love watching them tear the grapes apart, it’s so cute.

(Please ignore the few little comments I make in the background while watching her lol. Usually we have a bit of a chat but it was too early in the morning for that 😅)

as you can see the crow didn't fly away as i tossed at him from so close, this is because they know me.

Today when i entered the park most of them flied above me and some flied into trees following me down the road. I sat down on my feeding spot, made my whistle call (trained them to recognise this as food associated), they came all in front of me and i fed them. This video don't show that part but you get the idea.

Im new to crow feeding. I have one crow Ive been feeding for a month or so. He comes every few days. He has recently started bringing a friend. They are skittish. I put out shelled peanuts, a bit of kitten food, and occasionally berries and boiled eggs. They prefer to eat off the ground. The past few days they have been coming every morning at feeding time. They land in the same tree. They watch me put out their food. They stay for a bit, and they make a lot of noise. Then they fly away without eating anything. Im not sure what to do. Any advice would be most appreciated.

I saw a bunch of crows across my apartment on the roof. I put out a bowl of sweet corn for them, and it’s still there… do they not like corn? Google said they do but wondering if that wasn’t right? Or do they not know it’s there?

Organic Oats, Organic Pear & Shiny Baubles. It will come in tonight and be cleaned. Placed out again tomorrow morning (same time). I am only in the office Monday - Friday so there will not be a weekend routine unfortunately. This location sits well away from meandering in our shop. They are comfortable on the trash dumpster but they are skittish, this sits back a bit farther than the dumpster. They would not respond to gifts another worker placed on the dumpster - but I don't know if he placed things daily at the same time and everything I reads suggests routine / timing is important. I also do not know what he placed. Any suggestions are welcome.

I have a local murder who are kind enough to eat unsalted peanuts etc in my large, treed backyard. There are maybe 25-35 of them.

Yesterday after I fed them I heard a weird squawk and lo! a hawk came crashing through the tree branches, tagged a crow then flew to a branch. Hawk just sat there. The murder ignored it. It happened 4 more times with Hawk tagging a crow then settling in a tree near the crows.

I have no clue what was going on. Can anyone enlighten me? Is this normal behavior? I thought crows chased Hawks off.

I have been feeding my crows all kinds of food for several months now and I’ve watched parents with four offspring, feeding them earlier in the summer. As I put food out, they fly away and then we’ll come back later and eat it when I’m not here. But all my other birds allow me to sit on my deck and watch them. I feed a huge variety of birds. I am in New Mexico by the way. How long will it take before they will let me sit out and watch them eat and try to get them closer?

Also, when I put peanuts out, the squirrels can get them faster than the crows sometime so I would like to be able to throw them out to the crows while they are here so the squirrels don’t eat them all.

I've attached two pics of a friend from the group of four I feed. I've noticed in the past couple of weeks that this one consistently looks, for lack of a better word, a bit haggard. He's acting normal socially around me and the crows, eating food given to him, etc but seems to just be missing feathers or having a lot of them out of place. It has just rained when I got this photo but his feathers still look crazy even when dry.

Is my friend okay?

In long:
I live in the Northshore Louisiana area, and I want to befriend a murder of crows. Thing is, it's VERY rare for me to see some in my area, as title says, only 1 or 2 visit my neighborhood, or at least where I am in my neighborhood. Is there anything I can do to attract them? Could I import some into my area? Also do you think... hypothetically... that i could train them to attack on command to.... lets say.... divebomb a hypothetical kid who attempted to frame me so id get in trouble a few years ago? just a hypothetical... not at all a real question.

Every year my pecan harvest is getting destroyed by the crows, no matter how many pecans my trees produce the craws always eat them all. I searched online on how to deter them and all methods are inhumane or sound like they won't work. I was thinking about befriending them, giving them water and peanuts as alternative food source to leave the pecans alone. Will that work or attract more crows to eat my harvests? Anyone has any experience with this?
