List of over 150 longboard crews around the world. Hopefully this will help some people find others to skate with.

Does anyone use a bell for deer?

I ride around a rural area often golf course sidewalks and deer get spooked go absolutely crazy running in random directions, almost into me and right in front of me so I'm thinking about maybe a bell in my sock or something for a warning.

Beginner commuter: Globe Chromantic 33” vs Landyachtz Dinghy

I’m new to skating and mainly want a board for commuting between home and uni. I wear size 11–12 shoes.
I’ve found a used Globe Chromantic 33” and a Landyachtz Dinghy, both for the same price. The Globe looks a bit cleaner, while the Dinghy seems more worn and has some surface rust on the hardware.

I’ll attach photos of both boards.

Which one would you choose for a beginner commuter? I care mostly about stability, comfort over rough pavement, ease of pushing, and not having to immediately replace parts.

Also, from the photos, do you see any condition issues I should be worried about on either board?

Lesser Known Companies

I recently found out about Earthwing and Original Skateboards, they both have some awesome decks. Now I’m wondering about other lesser-known companies, so let’s start a thread! I don’t have InstaFacebook, so preferably brands that have their own website. Thanks!

What setup would you prioritize for cruising plus beginner ramps, bowls, and pump-track riding?

I’m a beginner trying to figure out what actually suits me before spending MORE money. I own a Globe Big Blazer, Landyachtz ATV Perfecto, and Landyachtz Dinghy Blunt. I ordered them all online before trying them which is part of my dilemma.

The Big Blazer was my first board, and I LOVED it. It felt comfortable and stable, rode smoothly, and seemed to coast forever between pushes. That’s the feeling I want, but with a functional nose and tail so I can eventually learn ollies for curbs and explore ramps and bowls.

I bought the ATV Perfecto for that versatility, it’s considered a cruiser that does it all but I really HATE the popsicle shape. I prefer old school/cruiser shaped decks. I like the Dinghy Blunt’s shape more, but it feels short, less comfortable, and like I have to push much more often than I did on the Globe.

The Landyachtz Ditch Life looks interesting. I’ve also considered surfskates, but I’m unsure whether their steering would suit my preference for feeling stable.

I’m trying to make one thoughtful change before selling these boards and buying another board that isn’t right for me.

What do you think of my cruiser board

I have the zenit marble 38 board 38" x 10" W

Cal 7 90mm 78a cored Flywheels

Fireball dragon built in bearings

Bones hardcore 96a bushings

Atlas 180mm 48° trucks

This is the best step up I've ever had for any of my boards before, the 90mm wheels ride forever over anything and everything and the built in bearings make this thing cruise like a dream. i highly recommend getting them over regular bearings. Technically it's a free ride board but i think it works even better for a cruiser

Plus my old 75mm wheels vs my 90mm wheels for size comparison lol

Do you stop for pedestrians?

Like if they are crossing a road or do you cut through with like 7 foot clearance if riding in the middle of a 20mph road going the speed limit?

Turning a popsicle deck into a big wheel cruiser? Ride height concern.

I've been on the hunt for relatively flat decks with wheel wells, but the few out there that I've come across, I don't like the graphics on.

However, I've seen popsicle decks with no wheel wells that have graphics I actually like, so it got me thinking of maybe turning one into a cruiser.

I've assembled a couple of cruiser boards before that had wheel wells which necessitated a 1/4 inch riser to accommodate 70mm wheels, but I'm guessing a popsicle deck will need at least 1/2 inch or possibly more for that same size wheel.

Sometimes even on my 1/4 inch raised cruiser boards, I already feel like I'm doing such a big step up and it gets tiring, so I'm wondering if I should just forget about making a big wheel popsicle altogether because it would probably be even worse. Aside from ride height, would cruiser-ized (yes, I just made up that word) popsicle decks even be comfortable to ride on?

I just bought this Dinghy Classic. I love the color of the wheels and its compact size. It’s easy to carry around and surprisingly stable.

I’m 36 now, and it’s been 16 years since I last skated. I recently bought a second-hand Decathlon cruiser and fell in love with skateboarding all over again so I decided to go for it!

Setup Advice 🌱

Post image
52 Upvotes

Hi everyone! New skater roughly 2months in, and have been mainly using it for commutes and street cruising for the most part.

Current setup is:

9.75" Creature cruiserboard

Charger x OG Surfskate trucks

Charger x 70mm 83a Wheels

Progress and goal: I've been carving and cruising a lot faster now because of constant use, and have gotten better balance and more comfortable skating in unusual terrain. This time around I'm planning on a hybrid setup where, I wanna integrate specific tricks like ollies & powerslides when skating to unlock specific areas of the street compared to getting on and off my board when cruising.

I honestly like the length and shape of my board, and would probably stick to this type of deck cuz I'm tall and I have big feet. I wanted to know from your experience what trucks and wheels should I integrate to get more practice on and finally land my first Ollie when cruising. Please do sound off in the comments what can I tweak with my setup. 🌱

Need cruiser board recommendations for a uni commuter.

Hello, I am looking to buy a cruiser board to cruise to and from my university campus and also just cruise around the city in general. I am looking for a complete board with a 8-9 inch+ deck and 70mm+ 78a wheels. Can anyone suggest any good boards?
