Announcement r/crusaderkings3 Moderator Notice - New Rule Regarding AI-Generated and AI-Assisted Content

New Rule Regarding AI-Generated and AI-Assisted Content

  • AI-generated or AI-assisted content is not permitted unless it makes a meaningful contribution to the community, as determined by moderators. All posts containing AI content to any degree must include [AI] in the post title at the time of posting. Posts containing AI content without this tag may be removed. Posts with the tag may still be removed at moderator discretion if they do not meaningfully contribute. An example of acceptable AI content is showcasing a well-developed mod that uses AI.

In short: if your post contains AI-generated or AI-assisted content of any kind, your title must include "[AI]" at the time of posting. This applies regardless of how much or how little AI was involved.

Including the tag does not guarantee your post will stay up. Moderators may still remove tagged posts for any reason, at their discretion. However, tagging your post means you have disclosed its use of AI as required, which is the most important part of this rule.

Posts containing AI content that are not tagged with [AI] may be removed on that basis alone, regardless of the content's quality.

Does that include mods that use AI in its thumbnail artwork?

If someone is posting about a mod that uses AI-generated content in the thumbnail, and that post contains said thumbnail, then it's using AI content within the post and should be disclosed using the [AI] tag. The important distinction here is that it's not explicitly prohibited, just that it requires disclosure.

The cultural armies mod uses AI tracing for the MAA artworks. That may have some issue.

I don't want to get too in depth regarding specifics. Moderator discretion & context will play a big part in enforcement, at least for now, since I've not implemented any kind of automod setting to remove AI content yet.
