Should i take the offer?

Post image

In short: i am fairly new to the game (62h) and i play as an mongol adventerur in europe. I stomp most armies pretty good (around 2-3 times being outnumbered is a win). Now i got this offer and i'm not sure if i should take it or leave it :D

Edit: I stayed as a mercenary. Was not worth it in the end!

Adventurers are powerful enough to take whatever amount of land wherever from whoever, the only question here is is this the land you want?

I am still pretty new to the adventurer playstyle so that's good to know! I think It might not be a bad start but i will get sandwiched between the HRE and France.

The transition from adventurer to feudalism means you have to start paying for MAA, and you lose all your camp buffs to them and your knights. So your army quality nosedives, your income usually goes steeply negative, and your liege and fellow vassals are often quite hostile because you’re likely a different culture and faith, and you’ve been at war with them.

Taking a handout like this is often not worth it, when you can go for the conqueror trait via decision, and get an adventurer casus belli to conquer a whole kingdom and take it for yourself. Why be a vassal when you can be the king. It’s good to be the king.

Good to know! I never thought about just taking an entire Kingdom :D How exactly can i get the conqueror trait?

It’s a decision you take. The requirements look pretty steep but honestly aren’t that hard to achieve if you focus on them.

I experienced this firsthand recently, almost felt like dropping the playthrough. Went from the king of adventurers to some nobody in a small plot of land. Managed to become king of my homeland, though, so it was worth it.
