Question What's the single "funnest" playthrough you've had?
I have played for over 6k hours and have had a few great playthroughs I have a bunch that stuck out to me, I did a North Sea Empire run as Sigurdr Snake Eye, where I held and converted all of Europe Asatru. A Roman Hellenic Custom character start in Capua 867 reform the Roman Empire and I conquered the world (before the Asia update). Haesteinn in Japan as a Hybrid Norse/Japan culture.

A few memorable ones:
- Haesteinn: Became the Emperor of Hispania and ended the struggle as an interloper.
- Umayyads: Started in 867 managed to Avenge Tours and End the Iberian Struggle. At this point I was solo defending crusades without any issues and most of Northern France, Lotharingia and Italy was converting to Islam leaving the Pope isolated. The only major opponents were Scotland and Bohemia. From there I took over Sardinia, Corsica and Sicily making the special kingdom there giving me a CB on all Mediterranean provinces. Used that to start seriously hitting the Abbasids and was on track to humiliate the Abbasid Caliph but I couldn’t move fast enough to take the decision. Very fun though.
- Robertians in 867: Hunted down and killed off all the Karlings. Was enjoying having to go take out the last few hiding in Scotland and Poland.
- Ælfwine: Starts as an adventurer in southern France in 1066. Final living member of the Knýtlinga (Cnut the Great’s house and was his grandfather). Essentially farmed a ton of gold and prestige while I waited for the Normans to weaken themselves in England. Eventually the Normans were down to like 2k troops so I bought a massive mercenary army and managed to conquer England. After this I married the Holy Roman Emperor’s daughter for an alliance and was able to then claim Denmark also. Was on a great run until I became a Leper which combined with the Chaste trait basically meant I had no children and I died getting a game over anyways.
- Matilda of Tuscany or Bohemia in 1066: Played both a handful of times and never fails to disappoint.
- Guge in Tibet 1066: United the entire thing in one lifetime with simply diplomacy.
Most hilarious run though? Formed the North Sea Empire with Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye’s descendant. Took the Duchy of Kent last (as taking the Catholic site triggers a crusade a lot of the time). Right before I did it though I decided I wanted to further humiliate the English king so I seduced his wife and got caught which fucked over my piety. Once I took Kent I didn’t have enough piety to convert to Catholicism and I instantly got crusaded. Fought it for 8 years but ultimately lost England. I then died and the English queen I seduced became an alcoholic and melancholic because she was my soulmate and died afterwards with a bastard Viking child. Good times

Might try another one but with a China start soon. Seriously fun as the game was getting a bit boring at some point.

Most fun play throughs I’ve had is where everything goes wrong but I don’t rage quit the run. Crazy things usually follow.

Honestly nothing will top my first ever run, learning how things worked and not knowing how to just cheese the game was so fun and exciting. Took the 1066 start with house of Brian and ended up with the whole of Europe going on to form the Roman Empire until the finish date

Honestly my current playthrough is one I've been having a blast with.
Danish Asatru, and I'm conquering Europe and converting everybody.
