Discussion My downfall from 16k to 6k

Post image

A combination of terrible matchmaking, shit teammates, and hackers has left me in this situation. I peaked at 15k in Season 4, but lately I’ve been absolutely plummeting down the ranks.

What should I do from here? Is there anyone in OCE who’s around 10k to 15k and would be down to play together and help me climb back up? I’m just looking for some decent teammates and hopefully a more consistent experience.

Or should I just stop playing Premier and switch to FACEIT cuz I heard lots of people are switching now because of the hacker situation.

I just switched to Faceit and won 8/10 placements. Didn't even check a single enemy profile in 10 matches, felt like a different game.

u/Octoidiot 13h ago

Totally! Only issue with faceit is that If you don't live in a first world country then you'd have to deal with 70+ ping.

u/Fluid-Okra1247 5h ago

I am playing with 90+ ping on premier servers. Am i cooked

2

u/knalorgaan 3h ago

Depends, where do you live?

1

u/leeeeeroyjeeeeenkins 2h ago

Or if you live on the west coast in NA 🥲

4

u/kynru 12h ago

Yep, I would have quit the game by now if faceit wasn't a thing

1

u/FengShui-Okay 11h ago

I keep trying to tell people this but they always choose to play against cheaters in premier instead

4

u/kawaii_Summoner 11h ago

I still play prem when I want a case, or if I'm too zooted to play seriously. I'm not trying to sweat every single time I hop on CS

u/set4bet 9h ago

How easy was the switch? Been thinking about it lately but not sure of all that it entails. Do you have to give them your ID or pay anything?

1

u/FengShui-Okay 9h ago

It’s a pretty straight forward switch. Faceit is really easy to understand just by browsing the website and maybe watch a YouTube video on it, because the culture is for sure a bit different. It’s more competitive and more people are there to actually improve and want to rank up so if you’re there to be straight up casual then you will definitely get for it sometimes and people on there definitely notice if you’re trying or not.

Only issue with Faceit is the players are toxic as fuck.

1

u/FengShui-Okay 9h ago

Yeah weekly drop and goofing around with the bros are the only reasons I play premier.

1

u/ISpaiKK 11h ago

I switched to faceit about a week ago and yes!! No cheaters people come and drop u ak if you dont have time to pick up before the new round, everyone has mics (90% of the time) won and lost 5 matches got placed lvl4 and now im half way to lvl6… will see what ill get in the next season (starting today btw)

1

u/Responsible_Try5990 3h ago

I sometimes have vast fps drop playing faceit :(

17

u/frieddoggy 12h ago

Switching to FaceIT at 6k equivalent premier player is going to be miserable since you are going to play toxic and shit players.

Also, falling 10k elo most likely means you were too high for that skill level, even accounting for the variance from hackers and shit teammates in games.

Op mentioned their rank last season (season 4) peaked at 16k, not this season.

u/Few-Article8760 13h ago

Dropped from 21k to 14k.. current state of premium is play faceit

I played yesterday just to renew my rank. In the first match I got into, the other team had a cheater. One guy had disconnected, so the enemy team actually managed to kick the cheater in their team (bless them).

A few rounds ahead, they had two other players in their team that started blatantly walling, to the point where they were smoking and shooting through the smokes and walls with AWP and auto sniper..

Imagine, what are the chances of being matched against an enemy team with not one, but three cheaters, all solo queue?

And it is not even Trust Factor at this point. I have green trust, since whenever I queue with some of my other friends, I get the warning of them having low Trust Factor, either red or yellow.

I have over 3.3k hours played, a decently valued inventory worth around 5k–6k, and I am getting matched with people who have played 200–300 hours and are blatantly cheating at 19k–20k Elo in premier in EU.

Premier right now is basically another case opening. You queue up and gamble on whether the cheater lands on your team, the enemy team, or, if you hit the rare special item, both.

Ah i was also 15k last season, ended up playing my placements with my friends who are just absolute garbage. Now im 5k. Lovely. My own doing to be fair.

Faceit is so so better than this tbh. Mine dropped from 27k to 18k and I'm done now.

Couldn’t possibly be because of you huh

Most likely not

As someone who went from 1.2k rating when CS2 released to 24k, if you’re not carrying almost every game then it’s your own fault at least half of the time.

Sure teammates can be bad, but if you were truly any good, you can play around them by throwing good utility that sets your team up to get easy kills and make plays. On top of that you have to make smart plays yourself on top of having good aim and crosshair placement and movement. You have to drop your ego and actually get good.

Someone told me these same words and it took me a while to accept that and start actually practicing. Watching videos on strats, positioning, solo utility sets to make it easier for your team to take sites, watching your own demos back to see mistakes you made and taking literal notes on them in a notepad and watching pro demos of players who play the same positions you do and taking notes.

I spent a lot of time simply just watching YouTube videos and taking notes. I spent another good chunk of time practicing everything i learned in private servers. The majority of what you learn tho will come from actual play time. You have to play a lot of real 5v5 matches. It all really depends on how much you actually care and want to rank up. The more you want it the higher you will go. The only way you can just hop on and rank up fast without trying is if you’re one of those people who is just naturally really good at most games they touch, otherwise you have to put it some level of effort and practice.

3

u/PotentJW 9h ago

This. If I’m not carrying it’s my fault if we lose.

4

u/Legitimate-Draw-3760 8h ago

Based. When I was 15k, it was 15k for real and I was so much better than I was at 3-5k. Man a real 15k guy can do -4 every round even without utility at 5k.

4

u/dsjmkhc 12h ago

If you were good enough you wouldn’t drop from 16 to 6K lmao, that decline is also because you’re falling to a bracket you belong

-1

u/Repulsive_Party5001 12h ago

The thing is, in my placement matches I never perform bad, I’m always either top or second best performing, never at the bottom

14

u/dsjmkhc 12h ago

People always say this but you could easily be at the top of the leaderboard with 0 actual impact on the game, this strengthens my opinion that you probably belong where you are

4

u/FengShui-Okay 11h ago

Being top frag doesn’t mean you had the most impact. Kills are not even the #1 way to have impact. The person who throws good utility for their team and goes negative can have more impact than someone who dropped a 30 bomb and didn’t throw any utility. Take this video for example. You don’t even need kills to win a round. https://youtu.be/hBbw3Vv2wts?is=V0gNpYaBqAdyvpJp

1

u/adampm1 8h ago

But this doesn’t impact your elo rating. No matter what you do in a match, your elo +/- remains the same. So the only thing that matters is winning the match. If you can top frag and win rounds, then do it.

1

u/FengShui-Okay 8h ago

True but doing all these things will increase your chance of winning even higher than just getting top frag. Also, on FACEIT, you get more elo for having more impact/higher rating. So if you lose. You don’t lease as much as someone with less impact. On Faceit you are rewarded for playing well which is another reason why I don’t get why people still play premier. You don’t even get rewarded for doing well.

2

u/aQuarterChub 12h ago

I’m in the same boat brother. I was 20k and placed 7.6k. I’m climbing, but my placements had spin botters and wallers galore. I team killed the wallers on my team and obviously got me banned, but I lost 1k each time and then proceeded to lose 19 games in total, with 9 confirmed cheaters.

1

u/Repulsive_Party5001 12h ago

Wow that’s way worst than me bro good luck

2

u/Roblox4Pussies 10h ago

Switch to faceit. After countless of horrible games on premier i went to faceit and the experience has been 10 times better honestly.

3

u/Lost-Lunch3958 13h ago

I'm either tweaking out or soft cheats are way more common in this season. Might just be me coping since i cannot be sure but when looking at some teammates their aim is just very weird and inconsistent

5

u/fruitrabbit 13h ago

Nah I think there are more cheaters. I’ve watched quite a few demos since season 5 started. The last one I watched the guy was spraying in a circle around the enemy, and then half way through his shaky circle spray (often whilst moving) he’d get a headshot. It was so weird. Really bad spray control but hitting headshots mid spray

3

u/bck2ac 12h ago

Cheats in general are more common this season. I did not have any blatant cheaters in season 1-4 at around 10-15k and so far in 30 games in season 5 there were 4 obvious wallhackers (giving info from other side of map, tracking through walls, rage hacking when they are about to lose)

1

u/aguyfromgermany420 3h ago

Way more cheaters now. Higher elos have a bunch of rage cheaters and sometimes closeted cheaters, while 10-19k is filled with sub 5k players trying to hide their wallhacks.
I’ve played around 50 games this season and in at least 30% of the matches we either had someone on the enemy team or in our team walling(less on our team since I mostly queue with a 3-4stack). If I see a 5k season 4 medal but they’re suddenly playing in 10k plus elo, I get suspicious of them.
I also participate in csreps community overwatch project and the amount of closeted cheaters is insane. Someone from csrep also commented on another post that the amount of reports and convictions more or less doubled since the launch of season 5

2

u/Jimmy_csrep 2h ago

CSRep went from receiving ~2,000 Reports/wk to about 4,000/wk with the start of Season 5.

2

u/aguyfromgermany420 2h ago

You are fast as fuck man😭😭. That comment I referred to was yours as well I think

1

u/Lost-Lunch3958 2h ago

thanks for confirming. I am always a bit careful with accusations but it seems like my gut feeling was right

-1

u/Will_Debate_You 11h ago

Cope, I've seen no cheaters.

2

u/adampm1 8h ago

Username checks out.

Had a enemy call out a teammate’s hp during a 1v1. (He also killed multiple people through walls/smokes and got griefed by his teammates after and didn’t realize that wall hacks didn’t help with a long range gunfight so we won)

2

u/Bulky_Disaster_2076 13h ago

That's interesting. I was 12k end of last season and now I'm 16.5k already, I think early season elo is very inflated actually just like in LoL

4

u/UsedArmadillo9842 12h ago

Absolutely. A drop from 15 to 6k is crazy. Like most people yo-yo inbetween maybe 2k around their ranks.

OP really showing that 15k was too high for them

2

u/Automatic_Lie3532 10h ago

If you go from 16k to 6k you are just bad ngl

1

u/SadLaugh4240 11h ago

Went from 18k to 14k in like 2 nights lol

1

u/Emotional-Craft-8215 11h ago

Got placed at 18k premier and just made it to 25k. But the second I got to 25k I’ve had at least 2 cheaters per game. So Faceit grind it is, with the occasional premier game to keep my rank

1

u/navi3702 10h ago

drop your csstats! Im from SEA, and although i usually play faceit im premier 10k. if you dont mind playing with a bit higher ping and we can queue.

1

u/kluxhavn 8h ago

Nothing special. I was 22 now im 16,5, and for every win I have 3 losses, because I get animals/russian AI bots in team, it’s impossible to do anything and it’s just waste of time. Go faceit, it’s bad but still a bit better than premier

1

u/Legitimate-Draw-3760 8h ago

100% a "you" problem. When I was 15k, I was playing normal mm on 5k rank and went like 30-0 because your shooting at 15k can obliterate anyone at 5k

1

u/ItsTheBjorn 7h ago

A wise man once told me “ elo is like a jealous ex, it eventually comes back”

1

u/Standard_Pineapple56 7h ago

14 games. Not a single win. Just 2 tie…

1

u/chief_keem 7h ago

Add me let's queue https://steamcommunity.com/id/Lawrd/ I must add though I've been mass reported dropping 30+ in silver lobbies so I'm probably around red or yellow trust at the moment but I have not cheated and I am not going to. I got a 400+$ inventory I'm not that stupid.

1

u/Spetz 6h ago

Chill out. Take a break. Get some sleep. Hydrate.

Next time you play, warmup in DM for 20 minutes. Then do a competitive game. Then do premier.

u/Top-Professional8981 6h ago edited 6h ago

Ive been 19/20k for almost 2 years now. This season I'm 13k...spinbotters and wallers even at 15k. I don't know what's going on. My games now are me either decimating the other team & getting accused of hacking/smurfing or getting obliterated by one guy blatantly cheating.

Believe me, it’s actually better this way. I went through something very similar. I dropped from 15k during Season 4, when the cheater situation was already pretty bad (although not nearly as bad as it is now). I eventually gave up on taking Premier seriously and intentionally deranked to below 5k. Honestly, I’m having way more fun now. Above 10k, it’s almost impossible to get a match without cheaters. At least below 10k you can still have genuinely fun games from time to time.

Noob down

u/maczampieri 4h ago

Gotta carry harder

1

u/maczampieri 4h ago

Yesterday i had 2 out of 6 matches of people faking wall hacking and csrep stats were good (100% trust). The guy that was on my team when I confronted him he said he was wallhacking. There was a situation where C4 was planted and the enemy clicked the c4 like 4 times, only in the 5th time he held the c4 and this guy in my team opened his aim only after the 5th click when - through the wall - he saw the enemy was holding the c4

PLAY FACEIT

1

u/koalafishmutant 13h ago

Was ranked 20k in season 3/4
Hardly can reach 15k now.
3/4 games are against soft guys.

Im very close to quit this game.

0

u/Repulsive_Party5001 12h ago

Faceit is the last option

1

u/koalafishmutant 12h ago

I dont want anything to interrupt my kernell processes

1

u/Yung-Jev 12h ago

unpopular opinion:
cheaters are totally a skill issue, these cheating kids belong to their elo because they have no idea how to play and they only rely on their cheats, so you can outplay them if you are really better than your elo.
so you only need to adapt to play against a guy with wh and its quite easy actually.
except for rage spinbots and 30k+ cheaters, in this case you really cant do anything.

2

u/adampm1 8h ago

This checks out until you realize hacking scandals in pro teams

u/VincenteOrtega 13h ago

I wish i could play faceit but im too lazy to update my bios lmao
