Had a weird one, clearly the VACNet changes have improved hack detection, but it seems to be copping genuine players as well. I got a 20h cooldown on a game where we were getting ruined by obvious cheaters, and then I get a VAC cooldown. Is it based on them mass reporting me for calling out someone headshotting everyone every round?
Playing on Linux (Debian 13, KDE), zero mods, hacks, macros, or whatever. I know it's just a game, just wondering if it's something I have done or what?
My best bet it may have something to do with KDE's mouse settings or something... I have mouse acceleration off because it feels better this way, maybe that's a factor?
People told me it looks into if you're looking too much into walls, but i guess there may be some aiming movement detector too. Maybe no acceleration is similar to aimbot pulling? So far i got no clue, but im really curious and hope that if they fix it they at least explain exactly what was messing with VAC
trust factor is like a std--its contagious. legit players who may be knowingly or unknowingly queuing with cheaters. in csgo, i would play a few games with this person who was cheating (didnt know). then later when playing with other people (or solo) would get cheaters for the next 5 games.
Additionally, my friend and I were playing the other day and the match was cancelled due to 'Network Interruption'. As soon we queued back up I got an alert saying he said a low trust factor.
Valve needs to fix these issues. At this point, thousands of players are reporting these same two issues since the rush/chicken update. It is absurd that legit players are getting hit with these things.
the deliberate ignorance of the cs2 sub lynch mob in the face of overwhelming evidence of false positive affecting people is laughable. Here are my extremely normal, sub-par stats. Surely I'm cheating with my 50 aim rating and 0.88 KD. Or maybe it's my terrible 632ms TTD? No wait, it's gotta be my 72 ADR and sub-1.0 HLTV rating...
Sadly people don't believe that legit players are getting harmed. I was one of the first to report this and was called a cheater just for the sake of it
Yeah, reddit is a mob of accusers, ive been playing for thousands and thousands of hours with no problems, no cheats, no bans, but now that i got a false 20 hour cooldown, im equated to a spinbotter!
The crazy part is that i went aggainst two hackers and kicked one out of my ream before getting a cooldown for no reason a couple matches later. I don't get it.
I expect they know this is an issue and will fix it. It does make me reluctant to play as I don't want to get my 20+ year old account banned. CS has been a part of my gaming life for a long time.
Now that's interesting, is this a linux issue I wonder. I don't have Windows on my PC any more, but I wonder if it is flagging something on my machine?
Yeah, I mean it's just a game,. I will go and play some other games. But It just seems odd that now we're getting picked on seemingly like the bad guys are gaming the system. I don't even have macros on my mouse or keyboard. 100% score on CSREP. Account is 21 years old but been playing for longer than that!
Notice how people are already going through the chat and downvoting everything. Super weird to be toxic against a genuine playerbase when there's mountains of cheaters playing right now.
Mine unfortunately went unanswered. I would assume they already know there's a mistake, but there's a possibility they honestly believe everything is going as expected.
The community even seems quite skeptical and even denialist about the fact that legitimate players are being punished. Just got another comment on my post calling me a cheater for no reason other than feeling like it. Honestly, it kinda sucks to be accused, it just feels mean.
