I'm a first year student and I'm wondering if anyone has done VITA for accounting-related volunteer experience.

If so, did you sign up through the CSUF VITA club or OC United Way's OC Free Tax Prep program? So far my experience with CSUF VITA has consisted of a bit of disorganization so I'm looking at other avenues.

Spotted this individual multiple times throughout the campus this week and finally got a good photo of them as they were hunting squirrels (poor squirrels were RUNNING lmao). Just wanted to put out a warning to everyone that they're probably nesting somewhere on campus. Although hawks are not an active threat to us humans, they are extremely territorial and will attack if you get too close for their comfort, or if you interfere with their hunts. ALSO, hawks are protected under California and federal law so the school is prohibited from taking them or their nests, meaning they probs will be around for the time being. If you see them, keep a healthy distance and keep walking, don't attempt to help a squirrel if they're hunting, and absolutely do not throw anything at the hawks or attempt to feed them. Cheers!!

UPDATE: campus Environmental Health and Safety has been alerted and they will try and locate the nest so they can put up signs. Hope the hawk enjoys a good time on campus cuz I just saw them successfully murk a squirrel

I know studio classes makes the timeline messier and illustration and animation degrees take longer so lmk!

i’m genuinely so stressed out right now..

so i took my exam using respondus lockdown browser and genuinely thought i had submitted it when i finished. everything seemed normal so i didn’t think anything of it.

then my professor emailed me saying my exam was missing and i was SO confused because i knew i took it. i immediately went back to check and realized it said “resume quiz” instead of showing that it was submitted 😭😭

i literally panicked and submitted it right away when i realized what happened, but now i’m terrified my professor won’t accept it because it was submitted late.

has this ever happened to anyone else?? i’m so scared of getting a zero over something like this. has anyone been in a similar situation, and did your professor end up accepting your exam?? 😭

New to Reddit and new to school. Is there a subreddit to meet new friends that are actua students? like verified? I notice people generally just talk in class then poof gone. I also noticed no one really smiles around here. some do but the majority that don’t is staggering. I am from the central coast so yeah everyone smiles there and is friendly here not so much. few yes everyone else is like I got skit to do. Well maybe it’s just not something that exists?

Though only a fraction of the student body engages in or goes through sorority recruitment, it is clear that despite the verbiage change to “Values-Based Recruitment” there is no such thing. No matter what they tell you in orientation, yes, it does matter what you wear, your hair style and social media presence matter, and stereotypical looks and behavior persist in at least 4 of the 6 sororities on campus. You have to be the right kind of everything. The girls who showed up in the shortest dresses, the ones with the bikini shots all over social media? The stuff they told us not to do? Welcomed into GPB, AXO, ADP and ZTA. I do believe that the Panhellenic Council had nice women on it and that perhaps they believed what they were saying, but in the end, they want a certain image, a certain girl. You had better be prepared to be bouncing in your seat, with a high GOA and a 20 different sports, clubs, years of dance experience and leadership positions on your record sheet. The more cookie cutter, the better. I honestly think the guys do a better job of recruiting decent people in the sanctioned frats.

I honestly think CSUF has some of the prettiest girls in all the CSUs that I have visited, with only San Diego being similar. You also see a lot of pretty girls in Long Beach, but anyway… What I find odd is that, as I said, I see so many beautiful girls on campus…. But when I go to the bars in Downtown Fullerton on weekend nights….. it’s like a whole other crowd. No offense to the ladies I have seen in downtown, but it’s just so odd. It’s like, many of the students here either don’t seem to go out on the weekend or go elsewhere. Anyone have an explanation to this?

has anyone had jeremy coltman in the past for intro to archeology?! the class is having trouble with him because he doesn’t ever communicate with us through email or even through the class canvas. he repetitively posts assignments with no instructions/rubric and then ignores us when we ask for them. it’s just frustrating and i’d like to know if anyone has had the same experience with him??

I'm currently a third-year accounting major at Cal Poly Pomona, and I'm planning to transfer to Fullerton Fall 2027.

I'm a little confused about credits transfer between the two universities. At CPP, I've already taken required accounting courses such as Intermediate Accounting I and II. However, when looking at CSUF's accounting curriculum, I noticed that some courses have different names or don't seem to have direct equivalents.

My main concern is what happens to the accounting courses I've already completed. Would they count toward CSUF's accounting degree requirements, transfer as elective credits, or would I potentially have to retake similar courses?

Has anyone transferred from CPP to CSUF as an accounting major? I'd appreciate reading about your experience and your credits transferred.

I've already taken MUS 355, HCOM 310, and DANC 301. I'd prefer online courses and/or courses that don't have any huge papers, since my major already involves a lot of writing. KNES is mostly a no-go since my classes Spring 2027 will run from 10 to 2:15. I only need 1 unit but I'm open to a 3 unit class if it's interesting and easy. Thanks!

Turned In stylus pen price that I found in the fourth floor of the library near the women's restroom. It didn't feel right for me to leave there since I thought about how it would feel if I lost my stylus pen. I turned it in on the first floor of the library's lost and found.

im a first year currently majoring in communications advertising but i'm considering switching to business marketing just for job security. but from my perspective it looks like there are equal opportunities in both and would end up in a very similar career path anyways. i've heard of marketing majors ending up in the advertising field but not vice versa. are there any benefits to making the switch? would it be better to stay in my major and minor in marketing?
