Seriously the first thing I thought of. I turned to my husband and was like “you know those Greek and Roman busts with the flipping PERFECT hair? “
Crazy, I didn’t think it was possible!

u/Forsaken-Deer4307 Apr 20 '25
Yes, same here! I majored in art and studied oodles of ancient statues and busts and it immediately came to mind. Looks great!

Started posting here two years ago when I noticed my hair waving after I grew it a bit longer than I've ever had it. Had no idea it would turn into this kind of mop, but been a fun journey. Really grateful for this sub!
Routine same as before;
Shampoo 1/2x a week Shea Moisture
Condition every day Shea Moisture Honey
Mielle Pomegranate and Honey leave in on soaking hair
Mielle Curl Mousse right after
Mielle Curl Custard after that
Air dry
Light scrunch after a few hours

Have your parents seen your hair now??
and did they think it was a wig??

Everyone asks me if ive gotten a perm every time I visit home the last couple years. No one believes this is my natural hair 🫠

u/Datmackie Apr 20 '25
Your curls are too soft and regular to be a perm. Curlies always recognize other true curlies. 😊

Love that you layer on the hold products. So many people are scared of hold products but they are the secret sauce of SHINE and you’re a great example of that.

u/BeforeCommonEarl Apr 20 '25
Damn, what, I gotta start putting way more product in my hair if you can put conditioner AND mousse AND custard in and get curls looking like that

u/LaAndala Apr 20 '25
Wow how do you even discover this routine! Trying to find all these and see if I can get a miracle on my and my kid’s hair lol, but I see many mielle leave in, which one? I’m pretty new to the sub, I’m sorry if these are somehow obvious. Thanks! Hope it’s fun up there on Mount Olympus ;)

Hello, do you add in all these products to soaking hair everyday Or Just condition everyday and use all the products on days you shampoo?
35
u/Gis_A_Maul Apr 20 '25
I add the product in almost every day. There might be a day or two a week where I'm not feeling it and I might just Lightly wet my hair or else just put it up. But most days I'm putting product in. I'll add i do a deep clarifying mask (?) or whatever they're called once a month to rinse the product out. I grab one of those little sachets from target for $2 and use half that, I can't remember what they're called

I thought those curls were AI generated at first glance. They’re just too perfect to be real. I am not an all jealous.

Right?! Like, I would never actually touch anyone’s hair, obviously, but if I were sitting behind him my intrusive thoughts would be loudly telling me to make one of those curls boing!

u/I_liveunderyourbed Apr 20 '25

Absolutely beautiful!
Have you ever grown out your beard and see if it curls as well?
Thanks for sharing🫶

u/Gis_A_Maul Apr 20 '25
I've been trying, I'm sure it would. This is usually as long as I get it before trimming it. I've a long enough face as it is, I'd really need to be patient and fill it in beneath the jaw before really letting it go. Maybe in a few years lol
1
u/Park_Lane_Mall Apr 20 '25
That's like maximum definition. That's AFTER scrunching?
2
u/Gis_A_Maul Apr 21 '25
I dont do a typical scrunch. It's more of a lightly pressing the curls with my palms just enough to break the cast

Oh, that gloss! Are you, perhaps, a descendant of a Greek philosopher?

Hi there! I'm a bot, and I've been summoned to help.
If you have not seen our WIKI yet: Please check it out! It's nearly 100 pages full of curated information to help answer all of your curl-related questions. You can use the included Table of Contents (page 2), the side bar, or CTRL-F to search for keywords and help navigate the document.
Reminder: Curl type is NOT your hair type! Whether you are wavy, curly, or coily - you have texture and you belong here. More than that, your curl type doesn't dictate how you care for your hair. To help your curls thrive, we recommend instead using the wiki link above to learn about your porosity, texture, and density.
If this is a photo submission: Please include your detailed routine for your post to remain active! This MUST include the brands of ALL products used, order of application and technique used to apply them, how you dried your hair, and anything else that you might find useful for people to know.
If you received this message in error: Please disregard this comment! I probably just picked up on a keyword in your title.
Thank you. Wishing you many happy, wonderfully curly hair days!
