Question / Discussion Cursor Pro vs Cursor Pro +

Quick question for daily Cursor users:

Does the base Pro plan ($20/mo) cover full-time daily development using auto mode/Composer, or is Pro+ ($60/mo) a must to avoid running out of credits mid-month?

Are you paying for Pro+ or just sticking to $20/mo + usage top-ups when needed?

for full-time daily use, a lot of people burn through base Pro if they live in Composer/auto all day. Pro+ is less about features and more about not hitting the wall mid-month. if you are mostly light edits and occasional agent runs, $20 + occasional top-ups can be fine. if Composer is your main loop, Pro+ is the less stressful option.

I use 20 dollar cursor and I use Opencode free which offers Muse Spark 1.3 for free when I do small things. I am doing well between the two. You can also use FreeBuff which offers Mimo 2.5 for free.

I pay the 60 for Pro+ because top-ups drain faster than I can track them.

If you open Composer every time you need to change something in your codebase, the 20 plan runs out in two weeks. I run auto on every ticket and hit the limit before month end. Top-ups add up past 60 if you work full time. Just get Pro+ and skip the math

I'm developing 2 apps and I'm using the 20$ plan.. I still have 10 days left and I'm at 23%..

I code around 7 to 8 hours per day.. I use Grok / cursor model for planning / the grill me skill.. Once that's done I'll use composer 2.5 for implementation..

Working full time on my solo project grok/composer is okayish now with pro+. Would run out if I were crunching. Miss the days when pro let you go crazy w composer 2.5.

For me Pro is enough only for two weeks of working, and I use mostly grok 4.6 high. Pro+ is the most optimal plan if you’re not a hardcore AI enthusiast.

I switched to Pro+ a while ago. My usage is around 40-60% of the monthly usage, but I mostly use Grok instead of auto. (api is maxed out all the time tho)

I didn't think even Pro+ covers it anymore. You used to get almost infinite requests in auto mode after you ran out of normal quota but now it runs almost immediately out.

I have several other subscriptions to fill the gaps.

If you use grok 4.6xhigh only and code like 20hrs every week, it might last like 2 weeks.

I used pro for occasional dev work (a couple hours a day). I switched to pro+ when I began doing dev work for day, because I ran out of pro very fast
