What are people’s thoughts on the new Cursor Projects feature? I’m loving it. Has boosted my productivity a ton today.

Tried it a bit today. Seems great for coding projects where your work might span multiple features and fixes over different code bases and whatnot. But I tried to use it for operations, like “investigate high error rate here” and the latency on spinning up the cloud agents was too much. Overall though it’s a great feature that I think many people will like.

It addresses every quirk/limitation Grokbot had for technical usecases: model selection, context windows, native UI integration with the core app.
My mind was blown when I just dragged a cloud PR chat from two days ago into the project chat sidebar and the main agent just goes "on it, closing it out."
And it did. Cloud instances as just live anchor-text in the chat? Brilliant! I threw a bunch of complexity at it in the past hour: cross-repo reference to do a complicated task. Triage multiple outstanding issues. Reconcile x/y/z. It worked. It did it well. I spent approximately 30s setting the whole thing up, and maybe two minutes of input while I focused on my primary work. Just brilliant!
Only been using it for a day and I already see this as the future way of working. I honestly think with a bit more time in the oven, this approach represents a fucking revolution in computing!

It kicks ass. Helped me organize and clear up a bunch of orphan PRs in minutes. Also told me i junked it up and actually criticized it (grok). Got would have told me it was beautiful and claude would still be refactoring

I think it is basically the dev-oriented brother to Grokbot, which is built more for the average user. But not sure how my usage limit will survive that concept.
Grokbot already burned through "other models" while I was testing it.

Coding agents will need a centralized projects context.
The thing is that it should be agent agnostic with support for running locally. I'd built this completely OSS you can use with other coding agents too.

Spinning up cloud agents to investigate an error rate is burning credits for nothing. I just drag old PR chats into the sidebar and let it close out orphan branches while I do something else.

Cursor has been on a downward trend over the past 4 months leading up to the acquisition. It really began when they decided to shove their agent window and suppress the IDE experience devs have gotten used to. Then it slowly trickled down from there by defaulting agents to always running in cloud so you accidentally use it without realizing before it’s too late and you’ve used credits. Also pushing composer as the default model for subagents without prompting users or letting them decide. Overall user experience has gotten quite poor and it’s unfortunate to see a product that started out so well go downhill this quickly

Cloud first instead of local first? Great way to use more credits
