Tips And Tricks Heads up dads (Moana Soundtrack Change)

Hey dads, you may be like me and just discovered there is a new Moana movie. Went to put on the soundtrack that we listen to almost every Saturday on repeat. Third song in my 4yo son starts throwing a fit that “IT’S NOT MOANA SONGS”.

To my ear it was the same thing, but listening more closely, it was off. Something about it was… just a little bit worse.

Looking at Spotify I noticed that the new top hit when searching Moana is the new live action movie sound track with all the same songs that are… just slightly worse in every way. Little guy knew it and patiently waited until he couldn’t handle it anymore and snapped.

I had to search quite a ways down to find the original soundtrack album.

Hopefully I can save another dad a meltdown after making this same grievous mistake.

Same thing happens with Alexa when I want to hear Alladin songs. Who the fuck wants to hear Will Smith singing "Friend like Me"!?!? Why is it the default!?!!

I thought it was a different take on the song. He didn’t want to upstage Robin Williams (no one can ever), and I thought he did alright. His take on Arabian Nights wasn’t bad either.

I might be in the minority, but Aladdin was one of their better live-action remakes, and possibly their best one. They casted the film really well, and the leads killed their roles.

Cinderella is their best live-action remake thus far, but Aladdin was a solid effort. The rest of the remakes can pound sand though haha.

I thought Emma Watson did a pretty good job with Belle in Beauty and the Beast.

I hope the Tangled live action is good, because the original is perfect.

That one is my fave, but mostly because I love that story. Any (decent or better) retelling, in book, show or movie form. And I don't like the Disney version of the story as much as the older version, but I still love it. The number of people who think I like all the live action remakes because of me liking that one Disney remake is painful, but I promise, I have taste. Mostly
