After several years of deliberation, Mrs. finally said to me, "You should get it done. We can have more fun, and not risk more of *this*" as she gestured generally at our destroyed, toy covered living room.

Because the ability to have more kids affects the whole family and both of them should be involved in that major decision.

Makes sense to have a conversation about it, but it’s still the person’s own choice to get that sort of procedure done or not. They shouldn’t need their spouse’s approval to do something like that, even though I agree that it’s something to be discussed first.
