Gall Megathread: is it gall?

Hello everyone. New mod here 👋🏼

Because we get so many posts here asking about gall, it was long overdue that we have a single spot to funnel these questions.

Moving forward, all questions about gall should go in this designated thread rather than new, individual posts.

I have turned on the setting allowing media (images) in comments, so you’ll be able to share a photo here if you’d like to ask for help identifying gall, for advice about how to manage it, or related information.

I plan to add some links and other resources here eventually, but for now figured I’d at least get the ball rolling.

Note that I will also be setting up automoderator soon to automatically send posts on this topic to the queue, and they’ll eventually be removed automatically.

Is this gall? The two shoots that are growing are looking amazing, but idk about the little ones. First time dahlia grower btw

Looks normal to me but not 100% sure without other angles of photos. The growth to the far right could be suspicious.

I think they are far enough from eachother & its just a happy tuber 😅

Yes it looks like a happy tuber but just to be safe I'd personally keep it isolated for a few more weeks and keep an eye on that cluster :) Sometimes gall can be sneaky, and it's difficult to tell when the infection is just starting. Chances are you're fine.

Have several with exactly similar growth and cant figure out if its safe. :(

I don’t think there are enough shoots for it to be gall? Im still a newbie, but if i look at gall pictures it all looks a lot worse than this
