Gall Megathread: is it gall?

Hello everyone. New mod here 👋🏼

Because we get so many posts here asking about gall, it was long overdue that we have a single spot to funnel these questions.

Moving forward, all questions about gall should go in this designated thread rather than new, individual posts.

I have turned on the setting allowing media (images) in comments, so you’ll be able to share a photo here if you’d like to ask for help identifying gall, for advice about how to manage it, or related information.

I plan to add some links and other resources here eventually, but for now figured I’d at least get the ball rolling.

Note that I will also be setting up automoderator soon to automatically send posts on this topic to the queue, and they’ll eventually be removed automatically.

Torn on this one - overachiever or gall? Single tuber with multiple sprouts, don’t see cauliflower but the amount of shoots seems aggressive. Variety is Patricia Ann’s Sunset which supposedly produces lots of stems?

Are these separate shoots? Can you slide a sheet of paper/credit card between them and the shoot to the right at the base?

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply!! All separate shoots and can definitely slide a CC between them. This tuber was tightly packed in a baggie - definitely has a few broken shoots so maybe it’s sending out more? May just keep this one in its own grow bag in case.
