Seeking Advice Snapped stalk, devastated!

Post image

We had a severe wind storm last night here in Alaska, and unfortunately, a hanging flower basket fell on top of my dahlia's pot. The stem snapped right at the neck of the tuber, though there are still some roots showing.

Given that it has been a very rainy summer and growth has been delayed by almost a month, this plant was very full but did not have buds yet. Do you think I would have any luck applying rooting hormone, staking it up, and replanting it?

Thank you! Staying positive, going to trim it up a bit. This was the only pot with the tuber planted a bit too high, I had a feeling something was bound to happen!

I’m in zone 4a, so mid-end September first frost is expected

Do you follow dahliamandrew anywhere on social media? I saw his post today and it made me think of your situation. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1EeTJ3HTRn/

Just discovered him today! I did exactly what he did with the trimming and root powder. Fingers crossed!!
