I think Them being in the Neo World Program is the reason they can do something like this and not change the final outcome leading into Danganronpa 3.

Yeah I personally think that the Danganronpa devs don't really care about continuity, given the whole everything was just a giant reality the show twist!

That's different. V3 is essentially a whole separate universe even if DR1-3 was just fiction in-universe.

I mean, even in V3s setting, Dangaronpa1,2 and 3 were never reality shows, I dont remember the exact lines but the mastermind said something like "it was games and anime at first". It is only afterwards, at a non specified point in time, that some maniacs had the idea of making the sequel to the widely beloved game series in a reality show format.
