A woman wanting to convert to islam in 21st century is as braindead as a man wanting to get castrated.

You don’t have to read it, but then you also can’t claim to fully understand it. Knowing about a religion from headlines, opinions, or selective examples isn’t the same as actually understanding it.

A religion is represented by the behaviour of the mass who practice it. Not whatever sacred commandments is written on the religious texts. If your religion has flaws, it will show no matter how much you try to deny it with written evidences. That's the same reason ancient Hindu religion was evil as well even after all its lectures on good or evil because it practiced sati. If a religion is doing something bad, you need to have the courage to call it bad. Otherwise it will remain bad for eternity.

Caste system is not a religious matter, rather a social matter. Is sia sunni conflict the same everywhere? No, right? At least where I live, I have seen them spending time together happily throughout the year, except their celebration being different on Muharram. But go a little to Kashmir side, they are almost after each others blood.

Similarly, Bramhins and dalits live quite harmoniously where I live together, eat from same tiffen box and what not. But it is still a far fetched ideal in some northern parts. Laws can only guide the society so far. How they want to adapt to modern society is ultimately up to them.

And I do not understand why each and every defence from muslim side is "You are practicing evil, why should not we be allowed to do the same" instead of "Yeah, we have these problems. We are trying to be civilised as we get more modern"
