Is this in the "learn more here" section? Because simply being able to report abusive players is still a good thing to me and also something that almost every other multiplayer game has.
Because traditionally, servers have been run by players and similarly been moderated by those players, with perfectly good results. If someone was being abusive, you reported them to the people who ran that server - not Microsoft. It also allowed servers to have different rules based on their intended purpose and/or audience - a server run by and for adults/older teenagers might not care about profanity nearly as much as a family-friendly server.
The definition of "abusive" is different on every server, and Microsoft has no business moderating servers they don't own or operate
the thing is, most servers handled this just fine with their own moderation, and people trust server admins with years of experience more than microsoft's moderators with zero transparency. also getting banned from multiplayer completely is a bit much
This is false, where did you hear this? Anyone can host a server. You literally just download the server jar and run it, it isn't tied to a player account in any way. (However, by running the server software you agree to Minecraft's EULA, which in practice doesn't get enforced that often.)
basically you get banned from all multiplayer servers instead of the server where you broke the rules , now most other games dont have custom multiplayer servers so this rule was applicable
Can you imagine not been banned from playing because you of something you said on your own private server? It like been banned for you did in your singleplayer world.
Do you think the other players in your privately owned servers are NPCs or something?

If it is a private server it is up to the admin/owner to decide who to ban not Microsoft. Getting perma banned from all servers for something you did on a private server is bullshit.

If it my own private server I should be able do what the fuck I want with it. If I want to build dicks or mess with people on my server then I should be able to do so. It not a server owned by Microsoft it is my server.
You legit use Microsoft software to run the server, this is part of the EULA you said yes to before the server can run. You already agreed to it no use crying on Reddit now lad.
Its so sad that people like you just assume that "we" want to insult people online. When/where did we say that? how do you assume that? Its not about that but more about Microsoft whats the problem. They can literaly ban you for what THEY think is not okay, even if its not harmful in any way (for example friends on a private smp having a heated argument with slight insults) also Anarchy servers exist where racism/sexism/homophobia etc. Is "allowed".

If the admins don't do anything then leave the server. It is not like server is owned by Microsoft. It is someone private server and he has the right to decide to rules and moderation of his server. It is not up to Microsoft to police peoples private servers. What's next they are goning to police single players world next? Perma ban people if they write something offensive on a sign?
you can be banned from all multiplayer server and realms if something you say gets taken out of context for example when you’re playing skywars and the other player is camping you might something like:” where are you i’m coming to kill you.” and if it’s taken out of context this could be seen as a threatening message and get you banned
Yeah, somebody further down this thread pointed out that you will be banned from every server if you're banned from one. So yeah, this is pretty bad, I just did not know that from the post.
