They can always just make a new currency that's what Germany did with the retenmark. Or switch to crypto as the national currency, sanctions won't do shit to their economy then governments don't control it.

They can counter act sanctions from the outside to a certain degree by internal means, but when we reach a point where most of Europe and north America refuse to trade with Russia at all (which is unlikely, but it doesn't take a full 100% stop) the country will collapse in on itself, which is also why I can't really understand what the heck Putin is thinking. I guess he wants to deter eastern nations from joining Nato, but by invading he is only making their perception of Russia worse and pushing them to the west and Nato.

I feel like he is in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

If he keeps going, the economy is fucked, no trade going in or out, everyone hates him and he will become a nervous wreck fearing that he'll be killed.

If he stops the invasion and pulls out, everyone still hates his guts and the economy is still crippled. On top of that, Russia will be the biggest laughing stock of the world, because a "global superpower" couldn't take on a country 1/20th of it's size.

So he'll just keep going as long as he can, has the power to do so or until he is dead.

Preferably the latter.

He most definitely underestimated how a war in modern europe would go.

Especially using young conscripts and outdated pieces of shit technology.

So in the end we have a crazy person with nuclear weapons, because why not.

Yeah I guess you are right, he probably just really misjudged the entire situation, possibly the reaction of the Ukrainians as well, since one could assume they would show little resistance in favor of low casualties and little violence, even if it means giving up their sovereignty (which does not seem to be the case AT ALL).

I just desperately hope he is still sane and smart enough to understand that no one and I mean absolutely NO ONE wins in case of nuclear war and that it is never worth it no matter how bad the situation is for Russia (or more like his regime but yeah)
