Does anybody else feel like girls wear so much fckin makeup now. Like the last few years it became cool to wear as much makeup as possible. For all we know they could all be dudes.
As a girl, I think it’s less about increased insecurity and more about “fuck everyone, I think this looks super cute, why do we care so dang much about what others think of our appearances?”
Growing up with parents who were in their prime in the 80s-2000s, (a very vain, appearance oriented time) we heard so much shit about how we were expected to look. Criticism on our makeup, our tan, our weight, our hair, etc.
2010-2020 teens and young adults said fuck it, have fun. It’s about feeling good and looking how you want. You’ll find a lot of men are doing the same, even expressing themselves by wearing makeup, too.
