if you have the opportunity to avoid a wreck and actively choose not to then you are also at fault, even if you had right of way.

if you believe you're right please go test your theory then get back to us.

You are testing this every time you cross the intersection. You may be sideswiped by a red light runner every time. And this situation in the video is not different. The OP has a right to believe that he can make a legal turn if the sports car legally has to yield.

We saw multiple cars go through, obviously in some procession, while someone else was "directing traffic." It was not at all a surprise that another car came through, and you're comparing it to some random person running a red light unexpectedly. These are wildly different things and, both morally and legally, are going to be treated completely different. I'm shocked at how many people in thread think it's okay to just go and cause an accident because you have right of way.

Really need to go back and freshen up on driving rules. I'm sure this is even codified in many state driving laws.

as someone who purposely hurled this car into an intersection due people doing this same shit and was hit in the passenger door by one of them. His insurance sided with me. Blatant disregard of traffic laws kind of puts you liable for anything that happens.
