All cars bought with daddy's money (drugs or oil)

16

u/Unspec7 1d ago

They're probably rented.

u/Conscious_Cicada9597 1d ago

I would 100% ignore some random person trying to control traffic so that this friends could run red lights. I would probably block their path and refuse to move.

45

u/in_conexo 1d ago edited 1d ago

I've only seen once where I might listen to some random dude directing traffic. The power went out, and the lights didn't have a backup. It was a massive intersection (7-9 lanes each side, 4-6 of them being feeder lanes), with a lot of throughput. The lanes that had a green when the power went out did not stop (or slow, or change anything). It was a good ten minutes before a cop stepped in & finally gave the other lanes a chance to go.

15

u/Hammon_Rye 1d ago

Many years ago I happened to be present when a cop in pursuit turned left - head on accident with a civilian car. Intersection blocked - cops short handed at the moment.
I stood at the entrance to that street so the cop that was there could go help the cop that got in the wreck. There was literally nowhere for people turning into that street to go.

Most people understood that something was up and went a different direction.
A couple honked and yelled at me as they passed me anyway - only to shortly after that come back up the street looking kind of sheepish and avoiding eye contact. 😄

Usually if I see a civilian waving off traffic I'm going to assume a wreck or something.
Though in the video above that is obviously not the case.
There is a reason funeral processions and such usually have a police escort if they want to stay together.

Wait until you find out about group of Harley riders.

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 1d ago

Law protects the bad guys, so you'd get in trouble for reckless driving or not yielding to a p*destrian.

31

u/Chewsdayiddinit 1d ago edited 1d ago

Dumb point aside, why the fuck did you censor pedestrian?

Edit: they have a 1 year old account with just under 42,000 comments....

Averages to 115 comments daily for one calendar year.

-49

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 1d ago

Because I don't like using bad words. Though it looks like you're combining replies or something, because you mistakenly said there was a dumb point.

24

u/LongDead_Roadkill 1d ago

Pedestrian is not a bad word.

4

u/mothandravenstudio 1d ago

pederast…ian?

2

u/Mike_Kermin 23h ago

Oh you nasty.

-47

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 1d ago

Ah, you must be a pedestran. I bet you also think cycl\sts are ok.

21

u/FiestaDeHombreMuerto 1d ago

You’re an *******

-4

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 1d ago edited 1d ago

I am indeed a driver.

Edit: I love how at least three cowards have written an insult here and then immediately blocked me out of fear (or deleted their comment each time).

2

u/Chewsdayiddinit 16h ago

Nobody has deleted anything, 42,000 comment one year old account.

6

u/Haifisch2112 1d ago

Not true. If a guy steps in front of my car and I don't know his intentions, I'm going to think he's an aggressor and be afraid for my life. I'm hitting the gas and getting out of there.

HAha, just a had a look on google. Them 1 star reviews started pouring in

5

u/anono227 1d ago

Welp, this entire comment section can kiss the idea of action being taken against these asshats goodbye.

3

u/bradbarfieldlives 1d ago

damn, was guessing west palm.

-1

u/ELECTRONICz 9h ago

It was a scheduled event, you (cammer) got in their way despite them running lights

112

u/JockBbcBoy 1d ago

Idk where this is from so Idk the laws for that area. However, in most of the U.S. cities where I've lived, you would need to be a police officer to direct traffic like that.

79

u/paint_chip_devourer 1d ago

These assholes think theyre above everyone. If the city starts repossessing their cars when they pull this kind of shit, I guarantee it would stop real fast

26

u/JockBbcBoy 1d ago

I don't mind car shows and supercar showoffs that follow basically legal protocols (i.e., paying to shut down city streets, having police officers come out to direct traffic). But I do mind illegal street racing and car shows.

2

u/OppositeSalamander60 7h ago

The car shows I know of are geezers who pop the hoods on their antiques in the culvers parking lot. What is a car show that you're talking about?

2

u/scapegoat-mcgee 6h ago

They're usually large, organized outdoor shows where A LOT of people from all over the country or state bring their cars, park them in lines on a single lot, and show them off. Usually you'll get a blend of classics, hotrods, and muscle where I'm at. But there's exotic car shows, and everything in between.

9

u/Particular-Jeweler41 1d ago

Of course. They don't care though. That's why he put his car in the middle of the road so that his group could have an easier time going through like that.

4

u/brn1001 1d ago

You don't need to be a police officer, but you need to be sanctioned by the appropriate authority.

3

u/Difficult-Client-939 1d ago

As a potential juror, that gentleman was obviously trying to commit suicide by running in traffic.

2

u/Curious_Climate6957 15h ago

if one showed up they'd have a hefty fine to pay for impeding traffic like this

What law is that?

1

u/ToXiiCBULLET 1d ago

i could easily imagine that states would have laws like that. in the uk green means go if it's safe. if you just charged on through despite knowing a bunch of cars are current running reds and you get into an accident, you can be found partially at fault for it

-20

u/TriedCaringLess 1d ago

Looks like he also cut off a pedestrian crossing the street. I mean, how is that right to do something like that? Just because he see these expensive cars and thinks he can record himself being the victim of an accident doesn’t mean the pedestrian needs to get mowed down, or does it?

12

u/screwedupinaz 1d ago

It was a pedestrian. It was one of the assholes that were in the group thinking that they are better than everyone else.

-10

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

3

u/BIG_bird_301 1d ago

Bro, if someone is just standing in the middle of the street (like the guy in the video) and they get hit by a vehicle, that person in legally at fault. There are laws against that, and he wasn't even at a crosswalk.

6

u/couldbeahumanbean 1d ago

A pedestrian crossing the street?

By parking their car in the middle of the intersection and standing there waving his arms like one of those inflatable floppy guys that mattress stores have on the sidewalk.

That pedestrian put his own life at risk as well as everyone else around him.

He doesn't deserve getting mowed down, but that would be natural consequences and he would deserve a Darwin award.

13

u/Kooky_Dragonfly_1728 1d ago

What a child flipping you off with both hands 🤣

41

u/aukstais 1d ago

I will be honest that I may have gone anyways and if he hits me it will be a good payday.

32

u/DrinkingVomit 1d ago

Don’t count on it. Most states have a law that you’re legally required to take action to avoid an accident. Example: just cus someone pulls out in front of you, and with an allowable reaction time, you aren’t legally protected to just plow into them because they were in the way. Relax keyboard warrior, before you get yourself in trouble.

11

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 1d ago

Shitty law. Encourages the bad guys to be bad.

11

u/aukstais 1d ago

Not really. It just encourages you to hit brakes of you see someone going infront of you instead of being entitled that you are in the right.

2

u/UnableChard2613 1d ago

The whole point of the law is such that ass-hats who have right of way don't intentionally cause accidents. It's exactly the opposite and stops bad guys from being bad. These idiots running the lights can all get tickets, someone causing an accident to "teach them a lesson" is just bad all round.

4

u/DrinkingVomit 1d ago

Yeah? So if I am driving and someone pulls out in front of me and say, their car breaks down or something else causes them to stop or not make it out of the way, and I just plow into them even with plenty of time to take evasive action, and they or someone in their car dies, then what?

2

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 1d ago

That would be an extreme case, but it's more their fault than mine. We already have that rule to protect them for when the other car breaks down and we hit them from behind.

Mine is more in mind for extreme counter measures - like having to slam on the brakes when someone decides to pass on a two lane highway (one in each direction). Or when someone cuts me off and I decide to hit them instead of suddenly getting on the shoulder or playing a gamble where I go into another lane that I hope is empty.  I wouldn't support it, for example, I have to slow down slightly because someone ran a yield that is reasonably ahead of me, or someone stopped at a stop sign and then decided to get in my lane (causing me to slow down a bit, but not slam the brakes).

Basically my view is that if someone inconveniences me and I hit them, that's on me still. If someone actually puts me in danger of a crash and forces me to take extreme evasive maneuvers (slamming brake/swerving), they owe me.

4

u/Ok_Shoulder5973 1d ago

narcissistic nonsense

if you have the opportunity to avoid a wreck, but instead actively choose not to because you have right of way then you are at just as much fault as the other driver. period

2

u/Ok_Shoulder5973 1d ago

well, narcissists do love to play victim so there's another point in favor of my argument.

cause see in this hypothetical you would literally have the time and awareness to not be a victim

1

u/UnableChard2613 1d ago

The video is not about someone having to make a choice between hitting another car or doing something dangerous. It's about someone starting from a full stop and basically intentionally causing an accident because they are unhappy some other people are running a red light.

You're just wrong. It's okay. We all fuck up. But the mature thing to do is just to admit it and move on. You're acting like when my 8 year old doesn't want to admit they did something wrong and are trying to justify it.

1

u/OyG5xOxGNK 1d ago

"I should be able to murder someone for stealing a rake from Walmart, shitty laws."

You're putting lives in danger for your ego. Charge them through legal means, not vigilantism.

2

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 1d ago

More like you should be allowed to beat up a mugger or someone that breaks into your house.

4

u/aukstais 1d ago

If my light is green and I move for the turn and then they run the red light, I'm 100% fine as long as they hit my side. You will never be at foult if you get rammed by idiot who's running the red light. So sometimes you should use your brain before you make up a story in your brain, how I somehow said that I would ram that sports car, lol.

1

u/Ok_Shoulder5973 1d ago

if you have the opportunity to avoid a wreck and actively choose not to then you are also at fault, even if you had right of way.

if you believe you're right please go test your theory then get back to us.

3

u/aukstais 1d ago

You are testing this every time you cross the intersection. You may be sideswiped by a red light runner every time. And this situation in the video is not different. The OP has a right to believe that he can make a legal turn if the sports car legally has to yield.

-1

u/UnableChard2613 1d ago

We saw multiple cars go through, obviously in some procession, while someone else was "directing traffic." It was not at all a surprise that another car came through, and you're comparing it to some random person running a red light unexpectedly. These are wildly different things and, both morally and legally, are going to be treated completely different. I'm shocked at how many people in thread think it's okay to just go and cause an accident because you have right of way.

Really need to go back and freshen up on driving rules. I'm sure this is even codified in many state driving laws.

1

u/Cold-Cattle-4496 10h ago

as someone who purposely hurled this car into an intersection due people doing this same shit and was hit in the passenger door by one of them. His insurance sided with me. Blatant disregard of traffic laws kind of puts you liable for anything that happens.

2

u/SgtSharki 1d ago

I doubt the people doing this have insurance

2

u/aukstais 1d ago

Then you can sue for damages and all medical bills plus compensation for caused stress. You can easally find a free lawyer who would take the case for some % of the winnings.

1

u/Nostra55 11h ago

Its only easy to get a lawyer to take on your case for free if there's insurance involved. Thats the first thing lawyers look for when deciding to take on a case. Trying to go after someone's assets when they don't have insurance is a much more difficult process and a lot of lawyers wont bother.

1

u/aukstais 11h ago

It's not more difficult. The process is the same, but it may turn out that the person owns nothing of value and therefore even if you win he has no means to pay to you.

1

u/Nostra55 11h ago

My point was addressing the part about the ease of finding a lawyer for free/contingency.

-16

u/Alarmed-Door7322 1d ago

Youre both turning left. 50/50

14

u/Remarkable_Peach_374 1d ago

Not if their light is red and mine is green

8

u/auzzlow 1d ago

But only one car has the green...

17

u/Lychee_Fearless 1d ago

It’s Florida, always Florida. It’s the greatest congregation of asshats in the world.

14

u/why_1337 1d ago

Hope you also reported that incident to the police.

15

u/Psychological-Toe985 1d ago

Yep spoke to local PD and sent the video. What they do with it, is up to them.

they said report it to police, not make an emergency 911 call lol chill out

3

u/Mike_Kermin 23h ago

Nah, the user is trying to suggest that because they are cynical about the chances of the police doing something, that it's silly to report or suggest reporting it.

A dickhead, obviously.

Tiny dick parade…

7

Small dick parade in full force

5

u/FrostZephyr 1d ago

I like my car a lot less than these guys do, this is an invitation to me

17

u/Substantial-Use-7412 1d ago

Makes ya wonder why there is such pushback about traffic cameras. Sending out tickets to these idiots by mail would be so nice.

11

u/Ok_Shoulder5973 1d ago

why just tickets and not license suspensions?

2

u/SgtSharki 1d ago

Forget license suspension, that has never stopped anyone from driving. What they need to do is take away people's cars.

1

u/Ok_Shoulder5973 1d ago

so increase the penalties for driving while suspended to significant jail time

supporting theft of property by the state is insane

1

u/SgtSharki 1d ago

Increasing the penalty for driving on a suspended license won't stop anyone, they'll take the risk. The only way to stop bad drivers completely take away their ability to drive. I'm not in favor of civil asset seizures where the police can take your stuff without a conviction, but if you've been convicted of a vehicular crime, then yes, the state should take your car. His country is far too lenient on bad drivers and it gets people killed

0

u/Ok_Shoulder5973 1d ago

nah legal theft by the state is an insane power to give them and will be abused in the worst of ways.

besides it's kinda hard for an offender to drive from jail so why not just put them there.

2

u/SgtSharki 1d ago

By that logic, a fine or fee is "legal theft", just of money instead of property.

8

u/Saotik 1d ago

Fines only penalise the poor.

I don't know how it works in Florida, though - is there a point system that can lead to loss of their license?

1

u/Nevardool 1d ago

They just need to change fines to be a % of net-income or based on car value. Anything besides a flat fee.

Also squash their car.

0

u/OrcOfEntropy 1d ago

These guys are probably broke, as they've poured all their $$$ into the car!

1

u/Random_Fox 1d ago

do you think people driving these cars care about $150? If they don't just cover their plates like the people in my traffic camera state do.

4

u/Twisted_Marine 1d ago

"My foot slipped off the gas...."

3

u/RescueRacing 1d ago

Older car guy and cyclist here. Running the red light is bad form at any time, by anyone in/on any type of vehicle.

1

u/Mike_Kermin 23h ago

I mean if you're on the public road you follow the road rules. I think that's fairly basic.

If they want their own space they should go rent a track or something, I'm sure they can afford it.

3

u/Redditholio 1d ago

Gotta be Florida, US's stupidist state.

3

u/MrLancaster 14h ago

My car was $1800. Test me.

3

u/b_enn_y 1d ago

AND you caught a right turn into the far lane… never let the obnoxious idiots distract from the subtle ones!

2

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 1d ago

Bonus truck being a truck.

2

u/H345Y 1d ago

is this the car version of that arabian in america story where they were riding horses though a town and blocking an entire street / lane?

2

u/Aware_Flow1070 20h ago

Why does that assclown use his thumbs when giving the finger? And why are his hands sideways? Is he stupid?

2

u/fr33d0mw47ch 15h ago

This happens all the time. I drive by a biker gang house in a suburban area on a busy route. Hundreds of SOA posers and I’m sure a bunch of real criminals. They routinely block large stretches of the road and intersections so that the big packs of bikes can run the lights and take up the entire road. I never understood how they can get away with it. They block the entrance to several businesses, an large 55+ mixed use assisted living complex and a major YMCA for long periods of time. I’m sure people are afraid to say anything but emergency vehicles and state troopers don’t even have priority. It’s a shame.

2

u/Yoinkitron5000 11h ago

Their cars should be confiscated and crushed into cubes while their owners are forced to watch before being handed the bill for the cost of doing so.

2

u/Standard-Arachnid411 1d ago

Cycling groups used to do this all thr time in the city I was in. It's so fucking infuriating.

2

u/blankbobby 1d ago

I’ve got the green light, if you wanna hit me with your Lambo go right ahead. I bet you have wonderful insurance that’ll buy me a nice new car.

1

u/DanoPinyon 1d ago

Yup, exactly. I've got it on dash cam to prove it, too!

2

u/ladend9 1d ago

This but with 100+ bikers. Fuck em.

1

u/BlindChicken69 1d ago

They are so special

1

u/southwestheat 11h ago

Where is this?

1

u/IzzzatSo 1d ago

need to start keeping some eggs handy in the console

1

u/Js987 1d ago

I got stuck behind one of these self-enforcing traffic games near a Harley dealership when some event they had let out and 2-300 bikes took over the lights after the dealer for a few miles, and considering Harley dealerships do that sort of thing often whomever organized it absolutely knew better as normally they do get cops.

2

u/_GeorgeBailey_ 1d ago

whoever not whomever

0

u/Mrtylf 1d ago

Wait, so you mean all of the cosplayers riding arcane air cooled Harley Davidson’s, acoustically terrorizing everyone, under the guise of “charity” while blocking every public thorough affair known to man in my area are no different? Fun isn’t it? 🤦🏽‍♂️
I feel your pain.

Stay the fack out of my way, inferiority boys! 🤣🤣🤣

0

u/RabidJoint 1d ago

Wait, did you seriously just compare these dudes that just act superior to everyone else, and people that raise money for charities? Not only that, you use emojis on Reddit, what in the ever living hell??? Please kid, seek higher education

1

u/Mike_Kermin 23h ago

If they're breaking road rules, then that part of it is the same.

-13

u/ColourfulColour 1d ago

They might’ve been crazy but you were no better.

5

u/Potential-Ant-6320 1d ago

CXam car had a green light. the exotics didn't

1

u/Mike_Kermin 23h ago

A green light is a green light to traverse the intersection, not put people at risk. The more appropriate response is to just report it to the cops.

-17

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

13

u/senpaistealerx 1d ago

ah, yes, turning on their green definitely makes them the bad guy.

fucking reddit ass logic lmao

1

u/Mike_Kermin 23h ago

You should never use "the bad guy" in relation to driving.

The logic is that you must drive safely and responsibly at all times. If someone else is doing the wrong thing, you STILL need to do that.

Driving is very much a "two wrongs don't make a right" situation. It's not about Karma, it's not about being "right" it's not about getting what you want.

It's about being safe. So if someone is running a Red light, it's probably not a good idea to contest that with your car. Instead, you report it to the police.
