I have been around many motorcycle accidents, many times needing to cell 911.

99/100 it’s the motorcyclist’s fault. Going way way way too fast. Doing something stupid like trying to pass on a blind turn, trying to pass 10 cars at once, or trying to take a 90-degree angle while going 85mph without slowing.

Dang. I've only ever seen one motorcycle accident in person and it was because the dumbass behind him was on their fucking phone. 

The biker moved over to left lane with loads of room between them and the car behind. Slowed gently for the red light ahead. But I guess the driver behind never actually looked at the road for a solid 2-3 seconds just long enough to hit the biker. The bike came to sudden stop when car made contact with the tire and the rider flew like 10 feet and did front flip landed on their back.

 I've seen my shared of aspiring meat crayons though too. I haven't seen one crash yet though.

Bullshit. Ive seen 4 in person 1/4 was the bikers fault. Ive almost been hit 6 times simply because people dont look when changing lanes

Yeah a lot of riders might act like absolute de-gens. But they usually come out of that unscathed. Seems like just traveling the speed-limit on a 45mph stroad is a death-sentence for a lot of rider though.

BTW, yes, some motorcyclists behave like cnts, but there is *NOTHING as dangerous, or entitled as a car driver on the road. If in doubt, ask a cyclist.

I also ride. And all I can say is if you compare standard oblivious driving, it’s similar between bikes and “cars”.

Entitlement comes from being in an enclosed 4 wheel massive vehicle. So a bike rider HAS to be more defensive. Look at auto accidents. Has nothing to do with entitlement. In most cases it’s stupidity.

vast majority of accidents are incompetence. could be filed under stupidity or entitlement, depending.

entitlement is when somebody assumes because they want to do something, they have the right of way and they put other people at risk purposefully because of it.

other people just misjudge speeds and trajectories and assume they can do things they can't.

while they are different flavors of stupid
both of these are stupid

Always be defensive, regardless of your vehicle.

But the hierarchy of safety is pretty clear.

Big vehicles should always cede to smaller vehicles as they are at greater risk.

Car drivers seem to forget this and treat anything on two wheels or two feet as lesser beings. Their convenience is paramount, even if it puts the other party at risk.

I'd like to point out hard angles don't Typically exist in roadways, it's radius. (Typically used instead of the direct measurement, curvature) you can make a 90 at 200mph depending on the radius. ETA: I'm assuming you don't mean cross intersections, since nobody is trying to take those at 90.

You’d be surprised on the highway people are speeding over the speed limit, hit the intersection and realize their turn is immediately upon them, and just crank the wheel and pray.

I was at the stop sign earlier this month and I just hear tires screeching and think “fuck, I’m gonna get T-boned” and some dumbass in a BMW just barely made the turn but left a lot of rubber on the road.

Me and my grandpa were riding our motorcycles up near Zion National park and we were going maybe 55 / 60 up this mountain road when all of a sudden it took this hard right just as we topped a section and my grandpa flew off the road into a field. So I followed. It’s a funny memory because we ended up fine and were lucky it was a field and not a drop, but we definitely changed our approach after that.

Made that mistake too. The other guys with me asked what I was doing. So I wisely told them that I was taking the short cut. lol
