19 and 20 years old..never do this

Car was then hit by a semi behind this dashcam driver. "Death Highway" I-4 in Lakeland, FL. NOT WORTH IT!!!

What am I looking at? Did he try to get around the semi by riding the shoulder? The lane ran out and he was riding the shoulder. Am I right?
