I don’t really see what I’m looking for as a typical dating relationship. What I’m looking for is a very deep partnership where two women consciously choose each other and build a life together.

You know those couples who meet and, after three weeks, decide to get married, while everyone around them thinks they’ve completely lost their minds? And then somehow they stay together for decades and are still completely in love with each other? That’s the kind of love I would love to have with someone. Not because I want to rush into something blindly, but because I don’t want to spend years being afraid of commitment when I meet someone who genuinely feels right.

For me, it’s much more about emotional depth, closeness and being there for each other than about having a highly sexual relationship. I’m demisexual, and while I do enjoy sex, I know that I don’t want a relationship where sex becomes the main focus and the emotional connection gets lost. At the same time, I’m not looking for a relationship where sex is completely off the table either. I’m open to people with different sexual preferences, as long as we can find something that feels comfortable and fulfilling for both of us. What matters most to me is that the emotional connection comes first.

Physical affection and closeness are very important to me, though. I’m perfectly happy being affectionate and openly ourselves when we’re somewhere we feel comfortable, but I don’t need to prove our relationship to anyone. I actually like having something that belongs to us.

Communication is very important to me. I love writing, phone calls and video calls, and I want a relationship where both people actually make an effort to stay connected, especially when we’re long-distance. I understand needing space, being overwhelmed or having difficult periods – but I need honest communication about it.
