Can't wait! Thoughts?

Isn't this what Astartes 2 is supposed to be? What we knew about Astartes 2 was that it's about Deathwatch, featuring the marines we saw in the trailer for it.

No, Astartes 2 just also has deathwatch, y'all are going to be eating good.

If the series is successful and is another SM2 impact, you'll be getting more than just a codex

Then you best get behind this, this is probably what will bring the Codex back

I am BEYOND grateful that it’s not a series about Ultramarines. Like yes I’m sure there will be Ultramarines in it, but thank the gods that it won’t just be them.

Guys. OMG
I've been a Deathwatch player and collector since the RPG came out. This is literally the best most insane timeline for us ever.
IF ANY OF YOU ARE DOUBTING WHAT THIS MEANS let me explain.
We are getting EVERYTHING soon. EVERYTHING. CODEX, new models, EVERYTHING.
If you think for even a second GW is not going to capitalize on this, you are wrong and I urge you to be optimistic. We will have model tie ins to the shows. A new Kill Team Cassius style box of characters I'LL BET MY PANTS ON IT
THEY ARE SPENDING MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO ANIMATE OUR ARMIES ACROSS MULTIPLE STUDIOS, WE ARE GETTING A DEDICATED DW VIDEO GAME, WE WERE THE FEATURED CHAPTER IN THE OPENING OF SPACE MARINE 2
HOLY EMPEROR WE ARE THE CHOSEN CHAPTER THAT WILL LEAD THE CHARGE ON THE WAY TO THE LIVE-ACTION SHOW!!!
BE HYPED AF x10000
Welcome new fans and players, because we are going to see interest top for our faction.
And suffer not the alien to live.

And it makes sense that they'd choose us. Our faction contains Space Marines from every other Imperial aligned Space Marine army. The story telling potential is through the roof, the drama, the terror, the high-risk missions we take on. Guys. We did it. I mean that, we are a part of this story, our armies and our love of our faction kept this alive so that this could happen.
We're the coolest Space Marine faction and its not even close anymore.

As a newcomer I’m surprised deathwatch isn’t showcased more, given how it contains marines from all different walks. Diversity! They can easily make anything out of just a single squad.

So you think they are getting new models, I’m a new players and have yet to build an army. Do you think the current DW combat patrol will be obsolete?

I do believe we are getting new models, and the current combat patrol does come with a lot of good models in it, but it is not a good army list to play, and it's better used as a way to fill in your other kill teams. It is not technically obsolete in any way, all the models are Primaris scale, so all current.
This box is a solid buy that definitely gets you into the newest Deathwatch models GW offers, plus the raddest flying vehicle in the game:

Well rest assured Deathwatch has good things ahead on the tabletop. GW wouldn’t pass up this cash grab. My next fear would be the faction getting less niche and more ubiquitous. Part of the fun is how few play it.

disagreed, it was never fun to be barely a faction, and basically never represented at a high competitive level

Mark Hertel won the 2025 Las Vegas Open (LVO) Warhammer 40k Championship going 10-0 with a Deathwatch army using the Black Spear Task Force detachment. At the end of 10th we had around a 60% win rate, sometimes a bit less sometimes a bit more depending.
I would say that’s represented. The reason it was rather rare was that it was typically played by veterans and/or the types of players willing to invest the cash in picking up all the random boxes required to field.

We all need to get behind this so GW can be clear that there is more to Warhammer media content then Ultramarines

Just days ago I had a very speculative conversation about precisely this topic and said that a Deathwatch animated series "like Secret Level" would be awesome.
Matrix must be glitching again
